"every killer player should be able to down any survivor no matter how much skill the survivor has."
This but unironically. Chases should vary in length depending on survivor skill, but should, unless the killer misplays, always end in a killer victory.
If both sides play perfectly, the killer should always win the chase.
Nah, the game is about clicky clicky- crouch spam GGEZ BABYKILLER.
Leaving SWF untouched just proves it.
this game stopped being horror years ago lmao. and if a killer player is bad and playing against a godly survivor with thousands of hours they shouldnt be able to catch them at all. if the killers and survivors are evenly skilled then ideally the killer should get 2 kills but theres too many variables and rng in this game. when it comes down to it dbd is just meant to be a fun pvp game and if survivors are guaranteed to go down no matter how well they play its not fun, simple as that.
No I'm talking about chases, not game outcomes. A killer can easily win every chase and still watch all four survivors leave through the exits.
we're talking about video game here not movie a balance game should always be 50:50
If a killer was expected to lose chases as often as they won them, they would require up to 4x3x2=24 chases per game. This is of course, unfeasible for even the best killers.
BUT! Killers should always have an upper hand in chases. Scaling the odds toward killers so much that survivors have absolutely no chance in chases is absurd, but scaling them just right so survivors won't be able to mindlessly loop every single pallet and win - that's the way to go IMO. Survivors should be encouraged to lose the killer instead of sitting at pallets.
This is what I mean when I say most people come in with a 1v1 mentality. Winning a chase feels meh to you, but do that for every team mate and you've won 4 chases, not one. You're not playing a 1v1 game. A killer can win every single chase and still get roflstomped because the gens were done in 4 minutes with ruin and now the gates are open.
Conversely, 4 survivors who successfully flee start feeling like they lost because they didn't win any chases. That is not your game objective, and tying your sense of victory to it simply means that there isn't a place for killers in this game.
If objectives are getting done too fast, maybe we should think about ways to prolong the game instead of cucking survivors completely? Also, I'm just gonna remind you that solo still exists. Playing solo is already a painful experience as it is, imagine being a solo survivor with your vision of balance. It may work in a "4-man SWF vs 1 killer" scenario, but what about those who play solo? Are we just gonna forget about them?
