Globe thing by someones name

what does the globe thing by someones name represent? does it mean theyre playing on epic/microsoft store or does it mean they are cross platform or both? and can they talk in post game chat? i have yet to see them talk in pg chat

They can be Console/microsoft store. It is the crossplay symbol. Consoles cant talk, microsoft can. I've seen only 2 crossplay symbols talk since this was added. Pretty sure most are console.

Edit: Maybe epic, idk.

both and anyone on pc i believe can use pg chat just not console so the globe symbol means anyone who isnt on steam

The globe icon shows that someone is playing on another platform other than your own. So if you're playing on Xbox for example, Steam users, PS4/5 users will also have a globe icon next to their name.
