Why Killers can't change character to use in lobby?

Can someone explain me why do I have to que with a particular killer? As far as i remember you could change killer in lobby, why is no more? And WHY SURVIVORS CAN?!

They originally implemented it when they first announced the plan to have skill based matchmaking on a killer specific basis.
The skill based matchmaking is still not even close to implemented but that's when they stopped allowing you to change killers in the lobby

so you don't change the killer when you see the players (example: all pc steves, now I'm going to change my killer to something i know I can get an ez 4k with, spirit)

because of thenew mmr system that will match make you basedon how good youa re with said killer thats why you cant do it no morewhen the new mmr system is perfected it will be put in to the game and that will behow the game match makes you survivors can do it still because all the survivors are the same and dont have any thing that makes them diffrent unlike the killers with there diffrent abilitys weakeness and strengths thats why all the survivor character are really just skins nothing diffrent baout them thats why they can switch kilelrs all are diffren tin there own way the new mmr will put you in a game vs ppl around your skill lvl so if your god tier will nurse your gonna be matched with ppl who are really good vs nurse or know hwo to vsnurse but if your trash with say trapper your gonna be matched with ppl are just as bad as you and dont know how to vs trapper

Excuse me but... as far as i know this game is called Dead by Daylight.... shouldn't killers have some kind of ADVANTAGE since they are 1v4???

Wouldn't change that much. Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Alert, Unbreakable, DS. I doubt perks would change that much even if players saw the killer. They either wouldn't care or they run super meta perks which are good against all killers.

The skill based matchmaking system is currently collecting backend data of matches. The "killer lock" was put in place in preparation of this match making system being implemented into the game...it means that the game doesn't require an update to implement/test it and can be done via our systems only.

As the matchmaking is done per killer, it prevents players from queueing with a killer they may be weaker on, getting matched with players of that level and then switching to one of their stronger killers.

They do have a lot of advantages towards survivors. They can run faster than them , their perks are stronger than a single survivors perks. They have the endgame collaps. Windows get blocked after 3 vaults in chase... etc

A lot of killers keep telling me they wish they could still switch killer when they see me in a lobby.

I wish they could switch too... But it's understandable why it works this way.

Yeah, if a 4man swf is allowed to switch to purple flashlights at 10 seconds, I also want to switch to slug build. I guess the developers want killers to always run slug builds :)

I still think this game is badly designed just to make survivors win so they can bring their friends and makes SWF.
I think this game should be a lot more brutal against survivors and make their way to exit a LOT harder. I think that they should be able to escape once every 10 games.
I THINK THAT BEING.... DEAD BY DEAYLIGHT should mean: You are in a VERY DANGEROUS PLACE with a killer and your chances to get out alive are VERY low, so be scared and play in fear.... but no. Survivors aren't scared a little bit of killer, cause they know that:
1) If they get hanged once, they can be free and have another chance.
2) They can genrush because they are 4.
3) They can infinite loop you even if you are a very good killer, and while you chase the others do gens.
4) There are 2 exits and 1 hatch to get out. They even give them a KEY (wich is rare but ok) to use hatch and get out.
5) They play in THIRD PERSON and their view of the game is larger than the killer wich is in first person!
6) They can use pallets to save them self.
7) They have every kind of perk to heal, rush, dodge and flash killer.

I could continue forever.
