i definitely have seen crossplay players write in the chat and their "view profile" option was unclickable. but i also remember the crossplay icon appearing next to the names of steam users a few major updates ago, so idk.

They can chat if they have a keyboard plugged in, but like they said-- it could be the microsoft store purchase too.

Idk. Maybe just pluggin in a keyboard? I mean this isnt new. Back to XB360 and PS3 you were able to do this. XB1 and PS4 shoulndt be the exception.

I also agree about windows store. But is rare someone play on Windows store DBD is even more bugged (and depending the time expensive) than steam.

Players on the Windows Store have the crossplay icon and can still use the chatbox.

Console players can't chat, not even if they add a keyboard and mouse because chat is completely disabled on console, you cant see it or make it show, + the game doesn't support keyboard and mouse even with crossplay pc just because devs doesn't care to add it or to lazy. I play on series x, I really don't know why they don't add mouse and keyboard in this game especially when we go up against pc, many games already did it.

All that the symbol shows is that they are on a different platform than you, so they could be Windows Store, Xbox, Switch, Stadia or Playstation - as they're able to chat (and presuming you are on Steam) that would mean they are playing from Windows Store or Stadia (I believe Stadia users can also use the in-game chat).

Players from Xbox/Playstation/Switch cannot use in-game chat even with K&M plugged in.

the game is free but the pass isnt if they keep buying the pass it will get higher then the price on steam so it worse
