Permanently banned for achievement hacking.
So about 2 years ago I was permanently banned in dead by daylight for achievement hacking. I do understand that it is a bannable offense but is it really fair to permanently ban someone over it. I mean it doesn't give me an advantage over other players so I really don't understand why it would give me a permanent ban. Please let me know your opinions, if it is fair or not.

Nobody cares about those achievements. A perma ban seems a bit too harsh.

If you cheat in a game you should get banned permanently. Its really not that hard to not cheat in a video game.

I understand that cheating in a game should be bannable, but giving yourself achievements in my opinion isn't really a big deal since it doesn't give you any advantages.

cheating is cheating no matter in what shape or form.

Not meaning to sound rude but that opinion doesnt really matter when it comes to cheating lol.
Youre giving yourself the prestige of having all of the achievements with no effort/time put in.

I would be fine with a soft ban, but a perma ban seems ridiculous to me. And it has been 2 years since my ban now.

Make a new account and buy dbd on it if you want to play the game again lol.

Dont blame the company/eac for removing you from tainting the game with cheating, the consequences were obvious as to what would happen if someone cheated regardless of severity.

Yes and No here, any kind of cheating is bad and should be banned, but for THIS long.... no.

Isn't that ban evasion?

You knew the risks when you did it, so should you really get off? No matter how little you cheated, you still cheated, end of story.

I actually didn't think it was bannable until afterwards. Because I did it in multiple games and didn't get banned there.

Even if everyone hacked achievements it wouldn't effect the game since it doesn't give anyone an advantage.

Well really nobody cares about those achievements. Some are really that rare and some are broken like Unforgettable Getaway. A true nightmare for the completionist. If people got them by cheating you can see the achieved date and time being the same. So there's no honor what so ever in that. With other games there's never been a problem about it either, DS, GoW, CSGO or L4D comes to mind.

If the cheating had any advantage what so ever, then yes a perma ban would make sense. But for unlocking some achievements that do nothing? Gimme a break:steamfacepalm:

Most likely he loaded the game with CE and loaded the achievements...
