What is the point in Ace Visconti?
Ok, so I started DBD playing as Ace Visconti, got him to like level 12 before trying other survivors. And then realised they all have better perks.

So it seems that Ace's perks revolve around luck and looting items from chests. But luck, to my knowledge, only affects unhook chance, what you find in chests and... ? And it's only a few % per perk.

I get that finding some nice items in chests is kinda good, but by the time you've levelled up a bit, you already have a bunch of good items anyway. Plus, because you can't use items taken back to menu with other survivors except Ace, then he's not really gaining anything besides slightly better items on average than other people.

Am I missing something with Ace? Does he have powerful perks later on, or some kind of sick perk combos? Is this why I hardly see any Ace players out there?

And if that's the case, how would you change Ace and his perks to make him more interesting and viable? I guess you'd want to keep the gambling/looting element but incorporate it more into the gameplay somehow.

He also doesn't moan as loud as other survivors.

He's the quietest survivor whilst injured.

I guess the idea would be that, instead of bringing one good item to a match, you can find multiple good items and then have more options.

Once you unlock the survivors' teachable perks, the characters basically become skins since you can get any perk on any character. But I would definitely suggest not starting with Ace.

There are 2 things that make everything better. Finger guns and banjos.

Don't level Ace as your first. His perks can be decent for item farming/silly builds but for beginners Claudete or Meg should be your first toons.

Ace is the coolest surv though

What is the point in any survivor? They are all just skins.

His perks aren’t that great, but also not terrible. Especially after Ace In The Hole is buffed recently, running Up The Ante and Ace In The Hole almost guarantees you to find double addons when you open the chest. I like to just loot although I already have +100 toolboxes because I like to collect things. It’s one of the thing I enjoy in DBD finding rare items and survive the game to keep them. Of course, I would not recommend Ace to beginners. If you are new to the game, you should probably start levelling Claudette to gain Self care perk and have access to your other characters.
