Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight

Statistiche:
why are the 10$ skins now "free"?
for a limited time

so these money only sets are now available with shards,--->why?
most dont look THAT good but still people have spent 4$ for 1 piece alone and now they are free for everyone

does this mean they are going to end up doing this to all of the money only outfits in the future?

wouldnt it be better to make the collection go on sale?

BHVR is trying to get people to use up all their shards before the new chapter drops to try to force $$$ dlc purchases.

This is the first time they've done this so you know as much as us.

Are the changes permanent? Or will come back these skins to be only with auric cells one day?
It lasts from September 4 to September 10.

DLC is most likely going to drop on September 11, as it is the Tuesday exactly three months after Curtain Call dropped on June 13.

21K shards isn't even free lol. No one is gonna have that amount saved, or very, very few. Getting that amount before the 10th? Insane
Don't grab a full outfit then.

All of the outfits really only have one or two pieces worth getting anyway.

People who beg must not be choosers. Have you ever heard of that saying? Before you say no one begged people have complained in the past about the pay for skins.
The cosmetics in dbd are overpriced as it is, doesn't matter if we're talking about cells or shards. Beggars can't be choosers doesn't apply here, both the beggar and "rich guy?" are getting ♥♥♥♥♥♥ equally here and I can't see how anyone can defend BHVR for this mess. Please don't give me the "cosmetics are just cosmetics, they dont change the game's balance" BS, that's not the issue here. The issue is them overcharging for their products. Also in case you don't believe me do the math yourself. It's 543 games just to buy a single outfit (21,600 shards) if you on average get 560XP per game, not counting the first match per day bonus of around 300.
I know you can't compare dbd to a game like CoD since CoD has a huge amount of camos, calling cards and cosmetics while dbd only has a few cosmetics and they aren't rng based, you just buy them.
But just as example, in BO3 it takes me around (not farming, just playing normal) 1 match/50minutes in zombies to get 3 items worth $1.99. And in MP it takes me around 10 matches/2 hours for a rare supply drop worth again $1.99. Meanwhile in dbd you grind for 100+ hours for an outfit that's "worth" 11 euro. That's around 11 cents an hour that you gain for playing.
Oh and in CoD you have dailies and weeklies that reward you with XP/items AND contracts while dbd is a pure grindfest and only has dailies.
CoD has rng and consumables, but dbd is still worse off than that because at least Activision lets me grind for stuff more reasonably plus they also put, sometimes huge, discounts on their ingame currency.

I am not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on dbd directly, just the way they are handling these skins. It's a shame and honestly fog travelers (and all other premium currency skins) should become permanently purchasable with shards after a certain grace period. Similar to how DLC perks are added to the shrine once a new DLC comes out.
Yes... Because skins that only affect how you look and IN NO WAY affect the stats of your character is something to complain about.

/s

Honestly, if you are a hardcore fan then skins should be a concern. It's a way for the fans to flesh out their favorite killer/survivor. If it's $10 for a skins and half the price of the game, just because you may not see the value in it doesn't mean someone else won't.

Personally, I'm happy they included the store. They are giving more people in their studio a job, and giving us more options in the game. I mean, we could always go back to the way it was before and have only exclusive skins and all content purchased with real money? Would you prefer that? Stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ before you eat your words.

How do you know it is until September 10? Did devs post something about it?

It says on the store.
How do you think a game studio stays running? You sell the game, ok that funds your studio for X time but the publisher takes most of the money, not the devs.

A few years on, where do you think the money to run the dev studio is coming from? They haven't released a new game yet. They are supplementing their income and keeping the large DBD team alive by releasing paid for DLC and cosmetics. You may not like it but that's the financial reality of how a games company work. People stop buying these things and after a while DVD team will be shrunk and put onto new projects to generate money.

It says so on the featured section of the Store.

They actively ignored game issues, yet jumped to fixing the store right away. You can tell where their priorities are.

Releasing "weekly skins" also speaks high volumes where their priorities are. ;)

A developer is not an artist.

Please dont throw around nonsense like this...
People forgot what free is, bying skins with your wasted time is not free.
who cares? no really who cares? besides its like 4-5 outfits that are free, its the ugly ones too, the good ones still cost money for the most part.
Messaggio originale di Ironclaw:
BHVR knows they're talentless one hit wonders. They want as many people to buy the new DLC as possible, to keep their gravy train going. Considering how Deathgarden failed. :)

They just try to bait you into wasting your shards for some useless, overpriced "prestige" clothings, hoping that you gonna buy the new characters with real money because you don't have any shards left.

They don't know anything about game balance ect. but they sure know one thing or another about marketing.

Pretty much this.I was only interested into clown's costume and the shirtless david, but those are still not free. No way i am gonna spend 21.000 shards on the costumes they have LUL

I will only buy the new DLC with real money IF they adjust the Spirit a little just so that she won't be trash tier. Otherwise,no thank you!

who would waste 21K shards on nonsense pixels anyway... i'd rather use it for the dlcs instead of wasting my money lmao

It should be common sense at this point. If you're buying a cosmetic, it's because you like that cosmetic and want to further support the game. You don't buy it because you expect it will retain it's $ value forever.... you can't sell it, this isn't a house or a vehicle or item of interest. It's literally an intangible cosmetic. And if you're a killer you can't even see it really.

What I'm trying to say is get over it.
I think its fair. Im sure they have more aweomse looking cosmetics so these went on sale. Just like DLC sometimes they go on sale. Plus you need 21k shards for one outfit which is months of playing.
