To OP: yes, it's misleading, there's no such thing as co-op. Only player vs player.
I think it should be noted, in the spirit of fairness, that developers have not intentionally meant to be misleading. People have tried to argue that Teamplay is the same as Coop, however both the official definition (as it relates to gaming) and the website Co-optimus (hint, if a game is not listed there, it isn't coop) clearly state to the contrary. In fact, the developers of Verdun did this in the past.
I, along with others presented the facts on the subject and convinced them to reconsider. Their official decision was along the lines of "We will make a decision to add coop, or remove the tag". Deciding it could only help sales of the game, they added a form of coop into the game (a survival mode).

As far as Dead By Daylight goes, I recall rumors that coop IS on the "To Do" list (I could be mistaking this with Friday the 13th), if so, I think they should keep the coop tag and just say outright that it will be available in a future update. As stated, actually having coop can only help sales of the game. If not, I would strongly urge them to remove the misleading tag.
I embiggened the important word for you.
