If you're hosting, you have no ping.
Ping is the latency OTHER PEOPLE GET WHEN CONNECTED TO YOU.
It has more to do with the survivors linking to the killer than vice versa.

Not true, I'm afraid. If either the killer or the survivor is region swapping - there will be lag, it is the connection between them that is the problem. Also if the host (the killer) has weak internet there will be lag as there is more pressure on the hosts internet connection rather than the survivors - hence, most lag in game is caused by 2 things - people region swapping and hosts with poor internet.
I can get 40 ping players in the game, but the time it takes for the game to open up the region to higher ping players seems pretty small. They try to fill the game quickly, but you get some crazy pings when the survivors don't come quick enough or end up backing out.
