The Secret to the perk 'Whispers'
Did you know that with whispers, you can actually pinpoint where a survivor is? The perk is all about math.

A streamer I follow is going to discuss this in detail soon in a video but check this out in the meantime.

Whispers is a core perk. It just takes some thinking and methematics. Don't underestimate it.

I'm still learning to use correctly. I don't play too much these days due to the nature of the DBD community (don't need that toxicity in my life) but I hope to master how to use Whispers one day.

32m is a big, big cycle. You know the survivor is in the area, but he/she could be hiding anywhere. I personally don't like the video, because while you're doing few steps back, to left side, right side... And until you pint point the "exact" location, they are doing on the generators. I'm using it for one thing mostly : It helps me to figure out which generators I have to patrol until I get visual, then the chase begins. For example If the perk turn on at the generator A, but that generator hasn't been touched,I'll go away and come back after ASAP, that's one of the advantages playing as hillbilly. You can get anywhere in short amount of time. ^^

In fact, very easy to use.
Killers on the forum constantly recommended to be more stealthy.
Now I will answer them with this video. Thank!

Against high ranked killer mains who know how to use Whispers, good luck to them.

Green Whisper is the most efficient, the small radius the better

The Problem with this video is that is supposes that the survivor barely moves at all while killer is doing his approximation.
And since this video isn't very slow at explaining how to do the triangulation there's a good chance it will nearly take the same amount of time to do so in the game ->only good if only 1 surv left.
Cause otherwise i triangulate the **** out of someone while the others do gens and/or just moved into the whispers radius which will make it impractical to use again.

In before all the fragile survivors use this video as an excuse to call killer OP and request another crutch, this video is only practical when the survivor is alone and barely moving at all. I do use whispers on pretty much every killer as a big time saver, you know, reach a generator, whispers doesn't pop so I don't have to waste time patrolling, move to the the next one.

And even then when there is only 1 survivor left it is far from easy to triangulate his position, and believe me I tried.

The radius is smallest at tier 3 (red/ultra rare).

Oh thank you

You won't have to worry for too long about this perk being useful, so there's no point in learning how to properly use it.

It's going to get nerfed soon, then survivors will keep whining it's still too strong and as long as it's useful killers will keep using it, the combination of survivors whining to the devs and the devs seeing in their stats that killers are still using it will ultimately lead to whispers becoming just as worthless as spies from the shadows, and then when whispers is gone, survivors will go after the other very few perks that killers have that are actually good.

What can we learn from this? Good perks is only a thing survivors are allowed to have, shame on killers who have/use good perks.

I find Whispers too distracting to use really. Between the annoying audio cues, the constant "Yo! There's a survivor here!" feeling making me waste time searching in the wrong areas instead of patrolling the gens, and the fact that triangulating is only effective in 1v1 situations, i'd rather use something like Shadowborn or Stridor.

Great. And killers are totally OP because they are even able to move while getting to know where to move to! Both is OP, simply OP I tell you.

they should remove it, this game to be hiding and stealth these doesnt allow it

Knowing that the killer is nearby is also no part of hide and seek but granted by the terror radius; so calling for a complete remove is kind of narrow-minded. What next? Playing blind as a killer? Stealth in grass for the survivors?

So this method expects survivor to stay at the same spot while killer doing his weird little dance?
Mattie! Feb 9, 2017 @ 6:05am
I made the video you linked-- keep in mind it's a way to track a slow-moving solo survivor. It breaks when there are separated nearby survivors, as well as if they are moving quickly. Yet you can do 2 of those steps to get a quick narrowing of the area at least.

Survivors have a lot of counter play to Whispers-- for example, if you hear a Nurse blink at the opening of a game, try to move ~30m away from a gen, wait until they move on because their Whispers didn't light up, and then go back to it. They'll think the area is clear, over-relying on Whispers.

Also if you hear the heartbeat, assume that if it's louder than its lightest beat that you're within Whispers range. You can use that to screw with the killer by always circling at the edge of that range so that they go mad with searching and waste all their time trying to find you. A lot like "pallet looping", it's "Whispers looping" where you keep them busy chasing whispers rather than defending all the gens.

Also let's use survivor main logic against them:

This game is going to be more about stealth (that's at least what they think, I don't (not yet at least)), let's get rid of your:
- sprint burst
- self care
- decisive strike
- balanced landing
- saboteur
- adrenaline

Why? Because none of these are stealth perks, and this game is going to be more about stealth. Will survivor mains find this proposition acceptable? (which is a proposition rooted within their own logic) You bet your ass they won't, they just don't want killers to have any good perks while they get to keep theirs.
