Bugged Retrieves? I can't get any to register for more than a half second.
Has anyone been experiencing an issue with performing retrieves? I've tried in Alaska and California, and I can not get a retrive indicator to appear for more than half a second.

The only ones I can get with certainty are straight retrieves. Stop and Go, Lift and Drop and Twitching seem to be impossible to perform. Because of this, I can't even get fish to take notice of my lures.

I'm getting this since the update as well Jonathan. Mildly annoying and very distracting at best.
Yeah, and when I do manage to get the retrieve to go for more than a few seconds, it rarely goes beyond one dot. :/

Yea I've noticed this as well. Maybe that's why crankbaits are doing so well since they don't rely on any of those methods.

The different retrieve pop-ups dont matter for the attractiveness of your lure. They are only there to help newer players get the hang of certain styles of retrieves.

One of the most effective retrieve i've found is a steady speed 1 until your lure hits bottom, than transfer into a speed 2 back to the surface, into speed 1 again. It doesnt show any retrieve type, it catches alot of fish though.

Bolt isn't fast. 80 year old man hooked into a 50lb chinook running downriver, now that's fast. ;)

Yea i've wondered whether the text and dots actually mean anything other than what you said. It's just weird that I haven't changed anything and now they don't seem to pop up hardly at all anymore. Oh well thanks for the tip you gave.

I disagree. Ever since this update, I have been unable to catch anything using lures that don't rely on a retrieve rating, even though I know I'm doing it perfectly (or near enough). Every fish except maybe two, I've gotten on crank baits. I got one on a lemon tiger spoon via twitching and one on a spinner bait (though that was done via a straight retrieve and could not replicate it again).

The excuse I was given in game was that it was caused by current, and is normal. How anyone woudl know that I have no idea. A technique is still a technique.

I'm still having this problem.
