Honey Hole
We all know people are always asking things like your depth, what you are using, time of day and so on. I always tell the truth, and that's fine. However, any Real Life Fisherman knows you never tell all. So, I am wondering if you all keep secrets, as I do about things I learn in this game. For example, characteristics of fish you do not find in videos.

I will say I been using spoons to find holes, deep grass and such for later use.

Also; off subject, people are talking about the grind. I love fishing, I do not consider this any type of grind like say DIablo Reaper of Souls for paragon levels. I for one do not see a grind.

To anser your question I do tell my secrets I learn along the way to others the same I have done in the huunting sim the Hunter, I keep a book for personal use not sure if u do but it is a good thing reason is to keep track of what u catch and on what place cloudy or sunny and fish and the lake I am at, It is a game so why keep secrets, I am in real life a hunting guide and fishing guide at a Fly in Hunting and fishing lodge, reasons I keep secrets there I have learnt over many years and things I watch etc but telling my secrets for my lodge is like cuting my own head off because I would loose money not that I really have to worry about that because I am so far north and about 90% of my customers come back year after year and I am always booked up months in advance all year round, I no I tell new players like lvl 2 or so and want to catch cats in missori for example I just tell them to fish pan fish or go to Lonestar in Texas it is free to go and great fishing and I use the word grind, I tell them to go to fish in Texas and grind away and lvl up meaning just fish it there as hard and as long as u want so that is all I mean when saying that, it isnt meant o mean anything else like you said but what I explained and others I no in game say the same just meaning to go fish there and lvl up a fair amount because that place is easy to get xp and money and to lvl up to 10 or higher very easy and not long.

I give people generalized info. There are no "honey holes" really. Some spots are better than others but there are other spots that are better than these "honey holes" that get passed around through guides and Youtube videos.

I really don't see a point in holding someone's hand so tightly, considering that they'll soon have to get used to fishing in a completely different manner sooner or later. Best they get used to that now, rather than get blindsided by the change.

I agrere with you 100% most the general info is so far off they miss out on hours of good fishing by not finding them on their own .

I have started writing down the fish I catch per hour for each 4 hour "hot" time. Fun to keep up with how many Trophies and Uniques. I have noticed a trend dealing with time of day and weather condiitions. For now, I am only studying Redear sunfish for no real reason, just started with them. It is also fun to try and better my catch per hour. So far my best is 10 in one hour with 3 trophies and 1 unique. Funny thing, it was on bottom and out of the peak time. Strange.
