I was thinking the same thing about the time speed haha. Yeah the time does seem to go by faster, but when fishing for profit now its best to have a look at the fish activity days before you make the trip. I have found that Michigan, for example, has decent hours for most days. It will take you alot more time to catch decent amounts of fish now though. I used to play for hours and fast forward and catch plenty of fish and tried many days, but now i spend all those ours playing a single game day to avoid FF. You also need to keep in mind you have to hop to different spots in the map quite frequently now. So catch your 7 catfish and when things die down, move to another spot that you can use the same depth for the cats. Also, try and target other fish if you still struggle so that you can still make some profit before end of day.
More enjoyment. I love to fish, and fighting catfish is great. At the moment I either catch gars till bag little over half full, then FF to do some catfish wrangling. Its just that window closes fast on some days is all. And in michigan its pike and then into blue catfish for fun. Cats arent good money makers, but good fish to wrangle :)
It was just a thought that it would be nice to have a little more time for fun still :P
Agree. Alot of fish have really short activity periods. Feels kind of frantic now, especially with the new migration mechanic. I'd also like more time to just poke around with the ultralight gear hunting panfish and not have to be so conscious of the clock.
I agree on both counts.
Real time would be good and bad. I dont want it that slow really I guess, but the old minute used to tick past every 30 seconds iirc. Not sure whether its good for all to change it slower, so its good to get other thoughts on the matter. I know what I want, but reading more from others can see the viewpoint.
Time passed at 4x speed before. IIRC. So, 15 RL minutes for one IG hour to pass. I always felt that was too fast.
Yep, way too fast. Not even for the point of farming for specific fish longer but just in general.
Right now you get 10 mins to prospect for fish with a 1 hr activity window, including time walking around and chatting. If you're looking for new fish locations, it's not much on a map like Michigan or Quanchkin where there's an enormous amount space and water to cover. So most people quit trying and all just bunch up in the known areas. In a 10-person room, it's now not uncommon to see 5 of them with their bobbers in the exact same spot.
Maybe a better solution than slowing the clock back to original speed might be to have the clock only run when your line is actually in the water. People aren't chatting as much, and part of it is probably the time pressure. You take time out to chat for a minute or walk over to try a different spot, and you miss 10% of your casting opportunities.
I don't pretend to know what the best fix would be. I just know the game feels kinda rushed since the clock change.
2 minutes in game time for every 15 seconds in real time. Thus making in game night time pass twice as fast as in game day time.
Might want to take that into consideration when thinking about changing the in game time parameters.
