New fish gripper
I'm dissapointed in how the gripper came out. When you catch a fish you cannot see the whole fish but instead the gripper and your hand.

I think its a step in the right direction. it might be a little buggy atm, but nothing a bit of repositioning for certain species cant fix. I hope its a step in the way of having different ways of holding a fish, dependent on the species.
I still hate the lip grip, to be honest. :/

I was raised not to do it on larger fish.

I wish there was an alternative.

You have to press X and with the mouse button go up and down to see the whole fish.
I know how to view the whole fish but thank you anyways.

So what purpose does the grip actually have in game.

Would be nice if the gripper was a toggable option. I actually was landing a uni Muskie and as it was coming out of the water the gripper was already attached lol.

I think more eye candy in the game relating to the fish you catch would be great. Landing and realeasing sequenses, and a way pose and photograph yourself with the fish...... id love to have a in game photo album of pics ive taken would be fun. So, how much does an in-game camera cost?

Guessing it grips? Lol, dunno, as a 'Brit'' I've just assumed it was hand held scales as we're very particular about fish damaging over here in Europe. We tend to put fish back instead of killing and eating them but Maybe using a landing net, padded mat (to rest fish on while unhooking), weighing sack and scales is too much for Dev's to add!

I catch and releas as well but for bass and the like grips like this aren't needed.

I hate the grips.

I don't use them irl here in England. I either use a landing net, or bring them in by hand. I'm also learning how to handhold pike underneath their mouths (but I have to catch one first and I haven't done this year yet lol).

These are used in bass fishing in the uk i always saw trhem grip thelower jaw. You should not use them on pike as it wrecks their teeth.
Gilling pike is not so hard they get easier the bigger they get. If you get bit its usually the small ones. Hooks are more dangerous.
Ironically the last pike that bit me I caught "dead sticking" fishing a lure like a dead stick...whilst drinking tea. Which i always thought was a very realistic part of the game that got removed .Because somebody said it was like bobber fishing....

Chin gripping pikes are okay and everything once you land them. Trying to take them out of the water like that is asking for trouble. I know from experience. Trebble hook right into the index finger. Five stitches.

Not liking the lip grip tool at all. Between it and the box with the info about the catch, you can hardly see the fish (yes, even if you hold X and look up and down). Please consider offering another option, and if it's about playing a humane fisher, with things available like nets and barbless hooks, then consider adding the old hand grip, or style a hand grip that doesn't pull the jaw downward, for example.

Also, please consider making the info box come with a slider setting to set the transparency.

I'm not against the lip grip, but it's making it hard to see the big catch, is all, because the catch comes up as your hand and the lip grip, the fish's head, the info box. Free look doesn't totally solve the problem.

The Boga grip creates more realism in that your fish cannot be held up by a lure. I mean, of all things to complain about, the Boga grip should be the last. The fish looks just like the others.
