I was raised not to do it on larger fish.
I wish there was an alternative.
Guessing it grips? Lol, dunno, as a 'Brit'' I've just assumed it was hand held scales as we're very particular about fish damaging over here in Europe. We tend to put fish back instead of killing and eating them but Maybe using a landing net, padded mat (to rest fish on while unhooking), weighing sack and scales is too much for Dev's to add!
I don't use them irl here in England. I either use a landing net, or bring them in by hand. I'm also learning how to handhold pike underneath their mouths (but I have to catch one first and I haven't done this year yet lol).
Gilling pike is not so hard they get easier the bigger they get. If you get bit its usually the small ones. Hooks are more dangerous.
Ironically the last pike that bit me I caught "dead sticking" fishing a lure like a dead stick...whilst drinking tea. Which i always thought was a very realistic part of the game that got removed .Because somebody said it was like bobber fishing....
Chin gripping pikes are okay and everything once you land them. Trying to take them out of the water like that is asking for trouble. I know from experience. Trebble hook right into the index finger. Five stitches.
Also, please consider making the info box come with a slider setting to set the transparency.
I'm not against the lip grip, but it's making it hard to see the big catch, is all, because the catch comes up as your hand and the lip grip, the fish's head, the info box. Free look doesn't totally solve the problem.
