Right-click the game in the library and hit "properties"
Click on "set launch options"
Put just this in without the quotes: "-noavi"
To make it work in Windows 7 (don't know about Windows 10), just install it like you usually do.
Then:
- Right click on 'My Computer'
- Go to 'Proporties'
- Then 'Advanced System Settings'
- Then under the advanced tab go to 'System Properties'
- Once there on the advanced tab under performance click 'Settings"
- Select 'Data Execution Prevention tab (or DEP)'
- Add the game or program to the exception list by selecting 'Add'
- Next, a screen opens and you can select a file
- Search for the RiskII.exe file and select it.
Now start the game by double clicking on the RiskII.exe from your Risk Folder.
The game should run now as normal.
Don't know about other options to make it run, so don't ask, but this is how I got to play Risk II in Windows 7.
Good luck and have fun !
Haven't had any issues in the over 10 years i've had it, even the retail release prior to Steam. I am currently running it on Windows 10. Are you still having issues with it? If so what OS are you running it on?
