I said in my review something along the lines of the game had everything that should've made it a massive hit such as the soundtrack, graphics, design etc. but it just, for some reason, didn't seem enjoyable to me and I was curious if anyone else had a similar experience
I've played on every difficulty maybe I'm depressed lol I'll just download it later and give it a replay
1. I can't really recall any games with bad soundtracks. At least the games I have played. For some reason, if there is any music in games, then it ends up being at least serviceable, and more often than not really good. In other words soundtracks don't turn games into massive hits in 99% of cases.
2. Graphics are graphics... They have nothing to do with the fact the game being good or not.
3. Design is very important (if you are talking about level design, world building, etc), but it's not the strongest side of the Doom 2016.
What I mean here is that soundtrack and graphics are not "everything" that should've made the game fun for you, and design, while it's important isn't that good in Doom 2016. So maybe your review of the game isn't correct at all, and Doom 2016 doesn't actually have "anything" that should've made it a massive hit for you.
Now, answering your question, of course I had similar experience. Not in case of Doom 2016 (I really liked the game minus simplistic level design and constant combat interruptions by glory kills and stuff... And some other gameplay features I didn't like.), but there are plenty of other games out there that I don't like.
It's just that games aren't made for everyone. You pick and play those games you like, and don't play those ones you don't. And if the game is actually made for "everyone" (lowest common denominator), then it's not a good game.
TL:DR;
The game is not fun for you because it's not fun for you. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It's definitely possible that there is a mismatch in what you find enjoyable in a video game vs. what this one has to offer. You might have also overplayed this game which causes it to be less fun over time.
You could also be suffering from lack of fulfilment in your life expecting a game to fill the hole. Unfortunately I don't think a hole like that can't be made up with a game like this one.
If you're looking to fill a hole, there are addictive alternatives out there that focus more on hyper stimulating your brain with scheduled and unscheduled rewards that might feel more fun for you as they distract you more fully from your life
I've come to that conclusion; back to dark souls 🤘😔
I ran into a lot of graphical issues, which some were fixed by switching it from OpenGL to Vulcan, but problems still persisted like a stuttery framerate/drops in certain sections, audio crackling, which seems to be tied with the framerate drops, or just cutting out sometime, and crashes.
I have all my drivers on everything updated, so I don't get why I have issues.
Managed to chug along and get through the game, but I don't plan on touching the game again any time soon though.
me when I was trying to get fallout3 to work, and finally did, only to not want to play it lol
yeah that's kinda how i felt like it's clearly an amazing game but for some reason aspects of it just feel tedious
