DOOM
Game refuses to load at all
Hey y'all. Went to boot up '16 for the first time in a while and the game simply refuses to run. No matter what launch option, permissions, drivers, whatever I try to fix; the button turns to stop for maybe 3 seconds before switching back to play. Game never even shows up in task manager. Genuinely only thing I changed before starting the first time was my monitor. Any ideas? TIA

Specs:
AMD Ryzen 5 5500
32gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce RXT 3060

I'm having the same issue as you. I'm reinstalling the game as we speak to see if this fixes it.
So, I just saw in another thread here that if you tried installing any mods in the past, you'll have the Dinput8.dll file in your main base folder, the user on the thread suggest that if you do, delete that file from the folder, verify the game's cache and launch the game. It should fix the problem. I'm almost done re-installing the game and I have also deleted that file, so we'll see if it works.

EDIT: IT WORKED!!!!!

If you used mods before - you need launch ModLoader and then game itself. Also you need +devMode_enable 1 for launch options. LegacyMod (dinput8.dll) and DoomLauncher don't work with current version.
You can also try to downgrade your version, if nothing else works or you want to use LegacyMod/DoomLauncher:

I got it too, I verified the integrity multiple times and reinstalled and game but it's still not working.

Game makes my screen go black and I cant do anything but hold down power button on PC to shut it down. I have not used mods in the past either

Edit: it seems to have decided to start working now... weird

dinput8.dll is LegacyMod, so it's also a mod just of different type (doesn't require ModLoader/Dev_Mode etc.).
Ended up deleting dinput8.dll and running the +devMode_enable 1 option and she seems to work fine now. Any idea what would've caused it in the first place? Never used mods for 2016 or eternal
Since I've built this tower I've had this issue on and off with different games throughout different updates. It could be a windows update, driver update, etc...

I have seen people saying AMD and Nvidia stuff don't like to work for some reason.

Same issue here. Is it trying to update the game? I see an update on April 13 but I'm pretty sure I've not updated the game in a long time.

There was small update for Doom 2016 not long ago. As for fixes, check my comment with link above.
