How to configure each button with an xbox controller ?

I know its a blasphemy but yes i play Doom with an xbox controller on my computer.
Anyway i would ike to jump with the left trigger but its not possible with the default seetings. Any tips to change that ?

I've never used a 360 controller in this game, but I do have one plugged in.

I don't think it's possible from the in game menu, but looking at the config file, you seem to be able to make manual changes to it.

So I think, if you wanted to directly switch those, it would be something like this:

bind "JOY1" "_zoom _altfire"

bind "JOY_TRIGGER1" "_jump"

It's a little bit more complicated than I thought, because I'm not getting it to work. I think you have to enter the changes into a different 'bindset' entry.

I'll play around a little and see if I can get it to work

bindset 0 is for singleplayer... the other bindsets are mixed based on the mode u use like mp, snapmap editor or play snapmap... just as example ;)

I've changed them in bindset 0, and it doesn't change anything on the controller. My customised keyboard controls are in bindset 0, but if I change the 360 controller buttons, it doesn't seem to do anything...

does the default settings work or there is no response from the controller ingame?

No, the controller works, but with the exact same buttons. The settings seem to be indestructible, ie I can even delete the settings and everything is the same. I don't know why they even put them in there.

Maybe it's something related to the cloud save. It makes things very complicated. I've tried read only etc and putting the commands in the local save. I give up.

Sorry if I provided false hope for anyone. There are other way to reconfigure with 3rd party software etc
