G-sync Not Working with Vulkan
There was a similar thread to this, however their problem was solved by turning V-sync off in the control panel and options menu, which has not worked for me.

With G-sync enabled in the control panel, my monitor will run "unhooked" at its maximum refresh rate while the game runs at its normal render (which is obviously less than ideal as it introduces tearing). OpenGL will recognize G-sync and run it just fine, but i'd certainly like to be able to run DOOM at 165 fps in G-sync with the new Vulkan API.

I've tried just about everything, switching V-sync on in the control panel and leaving it off in the game and vice-versa, re-installing Vulkan drivers, making sure i have updated graphics drivers, etc.

Any help is much appreciated!

Specs:
Intel Core i7-4790k
EVGA Geforce GTX 980 SC
ASUS PG279Q 165 Hz 1440p G-sync Monitor

Gsync seemed to work fine for me too at 144hz(external Dell 1440p display). I am using a laptop with 6700k and 980 so it's very similar to your setup.

Vulcan ran great for me, and about a 10-20 fps higher fps but I did have one crash, so I switched back to opengl since it still runs great at 1080p max settings. I haven't really had any crashes previously unless I overclocked too much. I have run at 1440p and 4k too(on an Acer 4k display) but I'm liking the higher framerate currently.

I also see G-Sync is not working with Vulkan. Even my fps cap in RTSS is being ignored with Vulkan. I went back to OpenGL and all is fine. Vulkan definitely gives me more fps, but it's not worth it without G-Sync. I'm just hoping all those damn CTDs are fixed finally. Latest patch says so, so my fingers are crossed.

Still an issue as of today's update.

I got a GTX 1080 (Zotac Amp Extreme) on a i7 6700k@4,6GHz and a Acer Predator X34A (21:9. 3440x1440, 100Hz) with G-Sync, but I can't get Doom to use G-Sync in Vulkan or OpenGL. I will not play this game without a working G-Sync, it's too annoying to see those tears on the screen.
