Have the latest drivers installed for your video card, the patch installed from Steam today, then in Doom go to Settings -> Graphics -> Advanced and change the API from OpenGL to Vulkan. You'll have to restart doom.

This is working for some people, but for me, it made the game stop working because it broke the DRM somehow - I'm really upset with Steam/Denovo/DRM at the moment, I really wanted to play Doom today because today was the first time since I bought it that I had some time to play for more than a few minutes.

You should benchmark both APIs on your system before going all Vulkan, though. Gamers Nexus tested the GTX 970 with an i7 processor and he got a barely worse performance on Vulkan than OpenGL. The Haswell architecture apparently doesn't scale well on the new APIs. Now you might get different results on your setup, so it would be good if you benchmark both APIs and see which one works better for you.

Thanks, I experience same with similar hardware.

i7 CPU with GTX 970 GPU. I am using the latest and recommended 368.69 drivers on Windows 10 64bit.

I run the game at 1080p with MAX settings.

Vulkan and OpenGl run at similar FPS with OpenGl taking the slight lead.
OPENGL 82- 150FPS
VULKAN 78 -129FPS

However, with Vulkan the game feels like below 60FPS. I prefer OPENGL.

Interesting, I've seen many Nvidia users reporting stuttering on Vulkan even with current gen GPUs even though they get better framerate. Maybe Nvidia needs to optimize their Vulkan drivers?

This is because frame pacing is off for Vulcan. The devs and nvidia need to fix it, for now it is better to use OpenGL, which I am still sticking to for my 970.

gtx 770 here. Made no difference. Will be upgrading to 1070 or 80 soon though.

Try to disable v-sync ingame and the stutter was gone for me with ~20 fps more @vulkan
