DOOM DRM issue after Vulkan Update? Unable to launch DOOM.
After the application of the Vulkan patch for DOOM, I was able to play the game for about an hour. Now everytime I launch the game I am presented with an error window which reads, "Sorry, something went wrong, for solutions please visit: https://support.codefusion.technology/doom/?e=88500006&l=english".

This link redirects me to a page which reads, "Currently your game purchase cannot be re-validated successfully, please wait 24 hours and try again."

I have 4 different gaming computers which exhibit the same error. I can only assume that there is some sort of DRM issue at fault.

That's Denuvo's activation page. https://support.codefusion.technology/doom/
Usually that should only pop up once you change hardware like a GPU or CPU etc.

Or when you change a simple setting in the bios:

Wow......... I actually had no issues when I switched over to Vulkan. I played for a hour or so, then my computer crashed. I rebooted, but windows decided it needed to update some files. Now i'm getting the same Denuvo crap. Pirates don't have these sorts of trouble when it's cracked. I can see the appeal.

I actually PAID for this game and I can't play it. There's also no links, no way I can see to contact any form of customer support to resolve the issue. It just tells me to wait 24hrs and to try again. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE if I have to wait 24 hours to play my game every time windows decides to update automatically.

Unbelievable.

Unbelievable.

I would be very careful with saying things like that, you can get banned.

Indeed. I've been through what you've been through.

You have to wait 24 hours to play again. Now, I'm worried about changing settings in the bios, for fear of it happening again. Denuvo is the reason I can't switch my memory from 1600mhz to 2133mhz on a whim... :(

"Should" - No! Absolutely not, "should" is not the right word. No, a paying user SHOULD NOT have to wait 24 hours to play a game every time they make a change to their PC?!?

And we ABSOLUTELY positively, should NOT have our day ruined by DRM when we install an OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM STEAM?!?

I had a few hours set aside to play Doom today - this is literally the first time in YEARS that I have set aside a block of time like that to finally really enjoy and get into a new game like this. Yes, I have spent MANY hours playing games like Civ V, but, I'm always doing other stuff and letting the game run in the background, popping in for a few minutes here or there to take my turn. Games like Doom don't work that way.

If I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have bought the game - I HATE DRM so g******d much I want it to die and never dream of coming back because all it does is these two things: 1) give something fun to do for pirates, and, 2) cause problems for legit customers.

It's simply not worth purchasing games if DRM is going to be this awful.

I AGREE 100%

This is complete crap. My game just locked up as well. I have a Youtube channel and I need to benchmark this update with 20 different PC configurations. I thought Steam was supposed to check IP or something more static so crap like this didn't happen.

Where did you get the cdkey from? Mine is coming from g2a and I have the same error. ¿ Could it be because of a fraudulent key?

4 different computers at once? wow. I'd say you're in something of an edge case there tbh.

Hey man, I agree. I've have been locked out of Hitman 3 times since release due to this ♥♥♥♥ DRM.

I love PC games, but morally, I just can't abide even giving one cent to any companies that use such a HORRIBLE product as this "Denuvo" - it's Evil and I hate it more than stomach flu.

I've requested a refund. I'm sick and tired of "single player" games that say "requires an Internet connection for activation" - no, I don't want that, I don't want DRM shoved in my face if I'm a PAYING CUSTOMER, it causes too many headaches, enough, stop.

Same here, looks like vulkan break the game in some case, this is really a bad update
BrokenReality Jul 12, 2016 @ 7:52am
My Doom won't load. I click Doom and I see running and the running goes away and nothing else happens. All started after the Doom update through steam. I went and grabbed the latest AMD drivers and did a clean install with DDU. Everything else is working fine but Doom. I had the Doom beta and it ran fine in Vulkan onmy Machine. My card is a R290 at 1105/1420
