You need to go and update to latest drivers. That solved for 950 for me.

well i used vulcan and didnt see any diffrence played for a while and the game froze should but it didnt crash should i update drivers ? max fps i get is between 98 and 160 without vulcan

I know this post is a couple of months old but I had this yesterday with latest drivers, I fixed it by making a backup of DOOMx64vk.exe (Vulkan executable) and making a copy of DOOMx64.exe and renaming the copy to DOOMx64vk.exe (so that both files are actually the OpenGL version). I then started DOOM, it changed the settings back to OpenGL and then I could restore my Vulkan executable

I installed the latest Nvidia drivers yesterday and ever since my game often crashes. and Textures are sometimes messy. [780ti, win7, drivers 373.06]
It mainly crashes when I finish a mission, or when loading a scene, or when I try to go into steam overlay. The game will just freeze and you cant do anything other than alt-tab-del and force close it. I restarted the game 6 times in the past hour due to freezing. Very annoying, practically unplayable.

Go to C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base and delete DOOMConfig.cfg and DOOMConfig.local and any other files there, NOT folders! In fact back them up and move elsewhere just in case as you can put back if required. restart pc and you're done. Should work now with defaults set. Good luck :)

Hello, im solve problem witch doom on vulkan crashed on start, all other games on opengl, directx working normaly, after reinstall win10 problem not solved, now i give rx480 to lower slot x8 and now all working..x16 slot is damaged .. reason i dont know .. maybe too heavy load on power rail .. ? if now put card to upper slot is problem and win10 freeze on start, switch off pc. Give to x8 lower position and all working vulkan too .. its bad for motherbords witch one PEG slot .. RIP i now riding on x8 and performance or fps in doom and other games is the same as on x16 ENJOY

I'm using EVGA GTX 1070 SC 3.0 card but I can't play it using vulkan api mode. My drivers are updated as well. Please help!

Solved with an amd rx470 disabling in BIOS "multiGPU" option. I think the problems come from intel's drivers and their "fake" vulkan support
