How to access classic levels?

I can look up guides on finding the classic levels like anyone else - problem is that I found one, got a tutorial unlock that said 'play this classic map from the campaign screen' - I quit to title menu, but I can't find anything that lets me select classic maps.

Do I have to complete the mission I'm on, after finding the classic area, in order to unlock a classic level?

If not, how do I access classic levels after finding a classic area?

I think you have to find some levers to activate the classic maps, then you can go play them form the menu. I'm only about 16 hrs into my first play through and haven't started finding all items/hidden things yet.

From your campaign slot, when you go to launch a saved game slot, you should see an option for Classic Maps that will allow you to play which ever classic maps you've been able to find in the game.

The maps are avail. as soon as your 1 st one is done. you tube shows where all of them are
