Sure thing.
I found a newer mod that does the same thing for Doom 2016 and the creator also has a version for Doom Eternal. Check out Keep The Dead for both games on Moddb
Edit: It's the same mod but brought over to Moddb by some other guy who has used it to make one for Doom Eternal. I have not tested the Moddb files for 2016 but it should work all the same. Doom Eternal works great but I have had it crash when I had time to attempt a full Master Level about half way through it.
Dont worry that guy doesnt know what he's talking about. Corpses and debris disappear in 99.9% of games. Most games don't even keep debris for more than a few seconds.
They disappear in most games to keep performance smooth. Most dev's worry that if gamers are given the option to increase lifetime of decals and corpses, etc, the gamers won't realize higher values degrade performance for some hardware and will blame the dev's for an un-optimized experience.
And rightfully so! Gamers are the reason story-integrated tutorials exist and instruction manuals are almost entirely a thing of the past. And people still complain about a lack of adequate explanation even when a thorough explanation exists in game. Not understanding is one thing, but blaming the devs for your own ignorance is absurd.
Devs: RTFM
Gamers: What's a manual?
1. as soon as an enemy dies, have some arbitrary timer of like 10 seconds or whatever count down and as soon as that countdown reaches 0, all the body parts are frozen in place and become part of the environment.
1.1 body parts still block shots and prevent players from walking through them. this could lead to maneuvering issues and might even prevent you from continuing with the game if enough bodies end up in a location where they block you from going forward.
1.2 body parts are reduced to pure textures and you will be able to walk and shoot through them. this would make things just look like ♥♥♥♥.
2. all corpses will always be influenced by physics, can be pushed around, moved by explosions, etc. then you have to make sure that there will never be too many demons per level to keep the game playable for people with regular pc's instead of literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nasa supercomputer or whatever. so you have to either make the levels much smaller or much more empty.
tough choice, all those options are ♥♥♥♥. gg unlucky.
