Make sure you dont have anything in the Steam Launch options, if you have added anything, delete it, if not, dont worry. If you have launched at some point succesfully, go to the MySavedGames, Id Software, and delete the folder, then try Verifying Game Cache, which will probably take about 30 minutes, then try re-launching Steam and finger-crossed, you will have launch!
I had a similar issue by the sounds of things, and that worked for me!?
Yep, try that first! I forget how important that can be sometimes!
Hmm, I just googled it to check for the guy, looking at a few videos, and it seems to run Doom pretty smooth. COuld be lies? But th evideo footage, and benchmarks show it handling things decently.
I've tried every thing and nothing worked for me, I'm reinstalling the game as a solution suggested by a friend
If that doesn't work then also shutdown all the background applications with e.g. EndItAll2[www.docsdownloads.com].
By the way, are you running anti-virus software? Try temporarily to disable it. The new Doom uses 64-bit version of a DRM called Denuvo[en.wikipedia.org] which is a really tricky bastard. If it detects that something is being tampered on background it might prevent the game from launching.
I have an irl friend with a similar issue where the game just doesn't launch despite the fact that system requirements are met. He first suspected his CPU but apparently that isn't the case and is safe to rule out.
Your issue may be the more common crash issue that others are currently experiencing.
...and deleting the whole DOOM folder might be a good idea. But in this case it probably won't do much.
i had a 7770HD and went to a 260x when fan died on 7770 and man it was a huge step down ...i mean like 20fps in eq2 and other games would run on low med at best ...xfx 260x sold it on cregslist for 45$ and got a 960 for that computer was 2-3x the speed over the 260 cost 40$ more then i payed for 260x was like 130$ at time 960 was 175$ish with newegg promo
260x would prob work 20-30fps on low till you got to foundry or hell levels
