DOOM
DOOM 2016 vs DOOM3?
Which DOOM did you like? I like the fact that DOOM3 was actually a bit scary and a little more combat. Write your opinion below.

Doom 2. (Especially with Brutal doom mod, god it is beatiful.)

As for doom 3 it threw the scary stuff out of the window not too long into game and went into "full action" as far as I remember.

More combat in Doom 3? I'd guess you kill x10 enemies in Doom 2016. Anyway, I don't dislike Doom 3 (except for the hitscan enemies), but I consider Doom 2016 vastly superior.

Doom 3 was scary at first but then again it got repetitive in that regard after awhile that you no longer got scared. But then again, I never really associated Doom with scare tactics and such so didn't feel it was a good homage to the original doom series. Combat for it was okay but nothing to write home about I think. The storyline for it was more scifi techy I guess but it was okay.

I think Doom 2016 is a superior game and is the true successor to the original doom series in all ways. It's not perfect for sure as the multiplayer is not really great (I'll be playing Overwatch for that) and the map editor needs more options and work done but it's excellent in that regard.

I never played the first two games, may be this is why I don't like the new Doom.

Doom 3 all the way. Especially with mods, it's superior.
I love both games, but "DOOM (2016)" edges it out

Doom 3 was the best

I loved Doom 3, but not as a Doom game. This definatley feels more Doom to me.
I have fond memories of both and still play the first two Doom games regularly. Doom 3 was good for what it was, though it didn't seem to know if it wanted to be a survival horror game or a faithful twitch shooter to the originals, so it ended up just trying to do both and coming across as a very middling experience. It certainly looked great though and they nailed the atmosphere.

I like how people try to claim doom 3 is somehow scary, in a world where doom64 exist.

Also, doom 3 is the worst by far. Terribly linear level design, boring conventional weapons. The AI is unbelievably bad, like on rails. Its almost somehow worse than the original dooms games where their only goal is move in the direction of the player. The lighting was completely broken and overdone, the enemies do NOTHING to complement each other's attacks which is what made doom so fun to play in the first place. I don’t even remember too many places were demons spawn in ways that they have separate types together at all.

The multiplayer was tacked on as all ♥♥♥♥. So yeah, they're not even in the same ball park.

Its below doom64, below plutonia, below final doom. below doom1-2 and below new doom.

New doom is a true worthy successor. It follows all the qualities that made the originals great, plus adds modern twist to keep it up to date.

Doom 3 was garbage. More like a horror story, than a fast paced fps game.
Doom 2016 was my best fps experience in years. Especially the SP.

I have thousands of hours in Doom 3 MP and its the most fun I have ever had in a game, Freedom to play were you want, who you want, vote in game changes and actually feel like you own the game.

Doom 2016 is a lesson in third party control to me, it has its good moments but mostly a let down at every turn.

i like both for different reasons
