Anyone know where the config files are?

I managed to get the game to run on my really crappy laptop at a playable framerate, wanna see if I can make it look even worse than I already have for the sake of performance.

EDIT: I found one. Just controls though.

For me that directory is empty besides the folders "generated" and "savegame". I played Doom for about 8 hours now and it DOES save my settings however.

Is there another directory where the config file could be at?

Strange, in the base folder I have:

generated folder
savegame folder
screenshots folder
DOOMConfig file, 13 KB

The only configuration file I found there had keybindings, a setting for mouse smoothing and a setting for vsync handling... no other settings were in the configuration file. Where are the video & audio settings stored?

There is a config file with a handful of video settings, but it doesn't have every setting that you can configure.

If you read my post you'd see I have the same question as the Op. There is a configuration file with *some* of the video settings, I want to know where the rest of the video settings are stored.

there are two config files... doomconfig.cfg and doomconfig.local
in the .cfg the key settings are stored and in the .local file are the rest of the settings, this is the config file!

i know i am super late to this conversation, but i have absolutely NO config files anywhere, i've reinstalled the game 4 different times, nothing has changed, i have verified the file integrity and it says everything is just fine.

i'm trying to find it for other reasons than most, my game freezes on the second loading screen (i believe the one before the actual menu) and i've heard that lowering the resolution worked, so i need to try that, but i've already searched for around 2 hours already and i couldnt find anything.

anyone got any ideas?

then type there %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\

Indeed, maybe the other settings are stored in the registry somewhere?

Just change the 'r_mode "17"' to r_mode "0" and you'll get resolution of 640x480 or r_mod "3" (800x600), r_mode is the resolution config, if you google 'doom 2016 r_mode list' you'll find the list of resolutions.
