DOOM
dual monitor mouse movement
just started playing doom and immediately noticed that while playing my icons on my 2nd monitor gets highlighted when i move my mouse around.

is there a way to fix this? the game is running fullscreen

i am not clicking the icons but they still get highlighted when i mouse over them while playing which is rather annoying to look at.

This happens with a few newer games. The only fix I've come up with isn't a fix... Just have to live with it. There was an old program that would lock your mouse to one screen when gaming, I can't remember the name though.

Dual Monitor Tools. It locks your mouse to one screen, has lots of customization and you can set up hotkeys to turn it on and off. Once I set this up, I've never had a problem.

Ultramon can do this too "Lock mouse to primary monitor"
Late to the party, but I had this same issue with dual monitors and DOOM(2016) here in 2025. DisplayFusion - a program I have been using for at least a decade, fixes the issue (custom functions > create hotkeys to lock mouse to current monitor). It's not free, but a very useful program that is available right here on Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/app/227260/DisplayFusion/

A. It works.
B. Yes... you are right about 'HOLY HELL" - I just noticed the price - I've been using this for at least 10 years and the price has more than doubled since purchase - more like tripled.
