DOOM

Good bye doom, restarting mission robs you of collectibles and upgrades from previous missions
I just restarted level 11 and it made most of my runes and weapon upgrades reset and some secrets are now gone too. I thought they were going to focus on singleplayer? Well it seems they haven't got any focus at all when something as basic as the save game feature is broken... guess I won't be playing any more doom.

you got glitched, then, cause before my first save got tagged as Dev Mode for no reason and I had to delete it, I routinely went back to missions to get things I missed and it never reset anything. Hell, my new save even still has all my doomguy dolls and classic levels that I already collected.

I just read that quite a few other people have this problem when they replay missions and then restart a mission, the replayed missions reset. Which happened to me.

Okay, and that's still kind of a glitch.

Yes, and that makes it still kind of broken.

Its only just been released, its sad yes, but most games need patching the few weeks after they are released nowadays, get your toys back in your pram :D

Not really? It's a screw up in how the game handles saves, likely something the developers simply didn't anticipate (you can't plan nor test for everything, after all).

Broken would imply that the game is just FUBAR on many levels, which it's not.

I can understand that there's glitches in a newly released game but I find it incredible that the game doesn't save properly, it's probably the easiest mechanic in the game to not screw up. I never moan about servers not working properly or that you fall through the floor on newly released titles but this is just... what...

Except it does save properly, it just doesn't handle saves individually for each level. So you restarting means you lost any backtracking you did. Stupid? Yes, but not a faulty save system, just one that's not as functional as it could have been.

Grammar my man. This is why passing English is important. He's complaining that if he replays level 11, he loses all weapon and other progress from levels 1-10 as well. Not just level 11.

That's not working as intended.
I just posted to clear up any possible confusion over whether it's normal to lose 100% of your CURRENT LEVEL progress. So if you re-do level 6, had 99% and finish on 20%, your new rating will be 20% and you'll actually LOSE progress.
He originally said that he *restarted* level 11, which I take to mean he restarted the entire level, not just went to Mission Select and replayed it, in which case him losing progress he made is a little more understandable, espeically if he'd been back tracking to find things he missed, since, as I said, the save system doesn't seem to manage each level individually, so resetting the last level he was on (possibly before actually completing it) means bye-bye progress.

Again, it's stupid, but nothing more than an unforseen glitch.

Again, *it's not a glitch*, i've done numerous failed runs during a 100% full nightmare run and redone 3 whole maps already (while recording it in 1080p60fps 6mbit to upload later to YT)

If you choose to replay a level *for any reason at all* it will start you again at 0% on that level.
The loading screen tip probably just wasn't changed, you're not supposed to say, take your hp+ammo+gun+upgrade count from level 11 to level 3, that'd just be stupidly easy then.
And based on personal experience, having gone back and repeatedly replayed levels to find secrets I missed, I've never had this happen. As in *ever*. I've replayed levels with upgrades from up to level 8 (before my save went Dev Mode) to find secrets, and it's never reset my progress, ever. I still had every single upgrade I'd gotten; health, ammo, armor, suit upgrades, gun upgrades. Everything.

Dude, you got one save curroption. No need to flip the f.uck out. Every game has this possible issue.

It's not a corruption. THEY DID THIS ON PURPOSE!!!! Why?? I don't know, it's probably some kind of conspiracy. We need to stand up to them and claim what is rightfully ours! THEY TOOK MY COLLECTIBLEEES

This just happened to me. It's demoralizing. Why would I want to restart the missions I went back and replayed? What a bummer.
I was about to complain about this. I just can't be bothered with this style of decision making. Truly robs me of enjoyment. Don't have time like before to playthrough full missions. At my age life is become simple, but at the same time busy as ♥♥♥♥.

Though for me all I wanted to see in mission replay is continue option. In the middle of a mission, trying to find some collectibles and now I was told to pick up a friend. Now all my collectibles will be gone and I must start all over again. I don't have the patience for this anymore.

Once again, that's not how it works. During my playthroughs I repetedly replayed levels over and over and over to find things I missed. Not once did it delete anything I'd collected.

NOT. ONCE.

Upgrades, weapons, mini doomguys, runes, the whole lot was still there even if I'd chosen to replay the first level of the game after beating the final boss.

In other words, what people were describing was a save corruption. I.E. *A GLITCH*.
