Why the f*** are you using a controller for DOOM?!
However, a month or two ago, I played through this entire game on the same controller without a problem. It was only when I tried to play it again recently, after the update, that my controller would just randomly shut-off during gameplay. The only thing that has changed with my PC since I played it last is that I upgraded my sound capacity to 5.1 surround.
It doesn't happen when playing other games, only doom.
I'm using a wireless 360 controller.
to get the attention of people like you, obviously. isn't that the only reason? i know its my reason...
Temporary Fix:
Go back to the main menu
Change to MP/SP/Snapmap
Load back to the game mode you were using previously.
[And some people can manage to play using a controller just fine. Sometimes it's nice to play on the sofa with a few "real life" friends. I'm not saying it's a perfect control method, but it's more than possible to press A A to jump. Maybe the keyboard and mouse warriors are jealous of your comfortable setup, or friends.]
