In your Steam Library, right-click on Doom and select "Properties."
Uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Doom."
You can backup your saves from here - Users\*USERNAME*\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame\GAME-AUTOSAVE0
Actually when I went to my second machine I was given two choices from the game menu. Upload / download....Clicked download, all progress gone. I think "id" cloud is the issue, not steam. Not sure, but it sucks. Going to try your advise, thanks!
This^^^ Except for multiple Steam accounts on one machine, copy the whole folder. Users\*USERNAME*\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame
Thanks fraggyb
To be short, what I did to fix the problem is looking if different directories were created for the savegame files when i started a new game comparing with the cloud files directories. Imagine what? YES!.
So To Fix This....
1. Backup the id Software folder (cloud files) located C:\Users\User\Saved Games to another directory.
2.Now delete the whole folder from C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\id Software
3.Disable automatic synchronization of files from the cloud.
4. Move the folder GAME-AUTOSAVE0 from C:\Users\User\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\savegame to C:\Users\User\Saved Games\id {LINK REMOVED}Software/DOOM/base/savegame.user/76561198001xxxxxx
5. Move the same folder to C:\Users\User\Saved Games\id {LINK REMOVED}Software/DOOM/base/generated/temp/savegame.user/76561198001xxxxxx
6. Start the game!
Done!
You need to contact Valve directly for support. Posting in a Steam forum for a game you don't have a license for will not solve the problem you're experiencing. Good luck.
If you didn't delete the save folders or deactivated steam cloud saving than not seeing any of your save is a bug. Just restart the PC or Steam and try again.
You don't own DOOM 2016. Your problem isn't a game problem. It's a Steam problem. So wrong place.
Restart Steam or your PC. It sometimes happen.
