Motion Sickness Solutions?
I'm really in love with this game. Sadly, I'm surprisingly getting some motion sickness (which rarely ever happens to me) while playing it. I've yet to fiddle with the FOV but I plan to in the immediate future. I was curious if anyone else who has similar issues might have some suggestions? I've also disabled Motion Blur which seems to help a bit.

The higher FOV you put, the less you get sickness. I remember when i played bioshock infinite with its 60-70 console fov on pc,started to get serious problems.. like vomiting. Changed it to 100 every bad feeling gone forever:)

Interesting I thought it was just me.

My PC struggles with this game and I noticed the frame rates were all over the place not only giving me motion sickness but head aches aswell.
This is what I did
1. Reduced setttings to get a steady frame rate.
2. Increased fov to max.
3. Made the game slighjtly brighter than normal as it is quite dark.

I will get a better graphics card but as its so soon untill the release of the new ones will wait untill then.

I was getting mild headaches yesterday, upped the FOV to 110 and all's good. Make sure the FOV is as high as it can without producing a "fish eye" effect. For a friend this was at 120.

Some people just get motion sickness anyway. Nothing we can do. As for me i could be playing Doom in the middle of a rollercoaster ride from being upside down in the middle of a loop and i would be fine.

Some people can't even go in a merrygoround and not getting motion sickness.

Yes the FOV will help .. but not if you get motion sickness easily.

True. Maybe it was the FOV that did it for me, or maybe I needed a day to get used to the FPS feeling (not much of an FPS player).

I'm not sure the FOV slider will save you with Doom. The pace is so fast and frantic plus all the jumping around.

You could try easier game modes so less enemies spawn in and you don't have to whip your mouse around so much. Just a suggestion.

Also, if the FOV change do help you, try changing the distance you sit from your monitor as well and find the perfect set up for you.

I had same problems but with another game. I turned off bloom, motion blur and increased FOV. Helped alot.

I've struggled with this all my life, so I'm always looking for ways to fix it. The original doom killed me, but I played it anyway.

The new doom killed me too. What fixed it for me, and it helps with a lot of games.

FOV to max. 130. Period. You won't notice the fisheye after 20 minutes.

Reduce motion blur to low or none. Not motion blur QUALITY. Motion blur.

Settings as high as you can go WITHOUT losing a good framerate. A good framerate is critical. Looking good is nice, but there's a lot of settings you won't notice outside of a screenshot. If you can lower a few things to keep consistent framerate, do it. Resolution is good. Ultra textures are good. You won't notice lower shadow quality outside of a screenshot.

Be well rested when you play.

And finally, if you start getting sick, stop. And don't start playing again the second you feel "kinda okay." Give yourself time to recover. Maybe even wait till you've slept.

The first time I loaded it up, I was done in 30 minutes.

Waited till tommorrow. Tweaked some settings. Was fine.

It looks like increasing FOV was the way to go for me. Thanks for the suggestions!

Same here, immediately got motion sickness soon as I booted up the game. Increasing FOV made it go away.

I had sickness too. Removing Motion Blur helped me.

I normally play games on FOV 110 when they allow me to, but had to put it to 120 with this one to avoid getting motion sickness.
