Multiplayer Armor Colours Pointless?

Your character never looks the way you customize him in-game. He's always blue/red depending on who's looking at you (which team you're on). So my question is: Why even have armour colour dyes in the game if you only see them in the menus? If there was a FFA mode it might have made sense, but apart from the "Top 3" nobody will ever see what your DoomGuy looks like.

tl;dr there should be an option to enable individual player colors, instead of just all being blue guys. I'm sure with the floating names you'd still be able to tell the difference between friend/foe

I know this is probably too late but, they added an option like you said to turn off blue color forcing and just displays a red highlight on the other team

You can disable the highlight too if you want.
