DOOM

Music has completely stopped playing.
Don't know why, but music no longer plays in game or the menus. I checked audio, music at normal.

Same issue here! >_> are you using an USB headset?
Grubbo May 16, 2016 @ 8:40pm
The headset itself is a regular stereo grade pair of headphones, but it is plugged into a tube amp which connects to the computer via USB. Hm...

I just exited game, steam, and then restarted comp. When I booted Doom again, everything was fine.

Hard to tell without someone who plugs straight into the headphone jack weighing in.

I am pluggled in using headphone jack. Did you try rebooting?

I've once had this issue in Dying Light when I was overclocking my GPU. I'd either lose the music after loading into my saved game from the main menu, or if I alt tabbed out then back. I'd lose it.

Okay so I figured it out after a lot of trial and error:

Problem: The game doens't seem to like USB headsets, it would randomly cut out voices and possibly other sound effects

- When using my Realtek HD audio + Speakers the game works fine.

Fix: When playing doom with an USB headset set your audio to 16-bit 44hz then go to the device manager and disable every other audio driver, Realtek HD (or whatever your equivalent is) and the Nvidia ones, then restart your computer and Doom should work fine.

PS: Restarting your computer is essential.

I always play everything in 48hz. I'm using a 5.1 USB headset with its own audio drivers. All other audio drivers have already been removed. Hearing how voices and some music are "non-existent" makes me think it's a downmixing issue. People who aren't using 5.1 surround won't have a center channel (for voices) and rear surround (music/sound effects), hence why they're missing. I'll give an update if I run into any issues

I'm not using a headset yet I've noticed this missing music thing several times on the Lazarus level so far. I restarted my computer, music was back. Died, music was gone again.

Realtek onboard audio, stereo speakers.

Yup, that's one of the problem areas for me too.
