I actually found the last boss to be the easiest. Got it on my first try on Nightmare :steammocking:

Always a cocky SOB that thinks he's hot sh-- for saying crap like this... I say your full of it. There's no way you could've known that spikes would appear on those pillars when she electrifies the ground. And btw, how in the blue fu-- do you avoid that? Either I die from electric shock or the spikes... Any clues would be nice. I hate these stupid hard fights. Do they really have to be nearly impossible?

Use the siphon grenades on him and you cannot die
I had a much harder time with the cyberdemon then the spider mastermind ... xD

Yep. I just couldn't find the groove initially, but yeah, finally beat the wench. I don't know how far I'll take nightmare, but pretty far in at this point.

Yeah I died a few times before working it out.

Draqu has the best method I've seen (ultra-nightmare speedrun freak)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFe7DaguOG0

BFG shot; then 2-3 charged seiged gauss hits.. repeat x 5 times and she will have like quarter health left. Finish off with gauss/rocket hits as required. Actually easier than other bosses once you get the rythym.

The spikes can be avoided. She will electrocute the ground as normal, then you will see her charge up a pillar in front of her. This means spikes are coming, and you can jump back on the ground.

Alternatively, you can stop any animation of hers with a bfg shot.

Jump on top of the pillars. Get free shots.

Explosive Shots from the shotgun to the brain work wonders.

Considering I beat it on Nightmare, yes it does. It's the most ammo efficient piece of offense you have. Though I'm assuming you have the cluster bomb upgrade as well.

Like I said, you need to target the brain. Not the face or the legs or the underbelly.

I thought Cyberdemon was harder than Spiderpants.

Face and brain have the same critical damage - anywhere you hit flesh. Or do the cluster bombs work better around the brain? Makes sense I suppose.

I'm willing to stand corrected - no I haven't tested the cluster bombs, and admit I'd forgotten about that. Without it, the single grenade does nothing. Even the rockets arent great, but the bfg/gauss combo does so much damage theres little to finish off.

Having said all that.. I'm already nervous about the bosses on U-Nightmare run.. too much pressure!

Move constantly when the ground is normal and get in shots where you can, then when it shocks the ground jump on a pillar and quickly hit it with a BFG shot... Then when it's down unload on it with the chaingun turret and gauss when that's out. It's tempting to use the BFG ammo as soon as possible cause it makes you feel like you're getting an upper hand but you're really just biting yourself in the ass later in the fight.
