The last Wolfensteain was more like Cod. It had a lean out of cover mechanic for crying out loud but everyone praised that.
It's just a bunch of edgy kids most of who probably weren't even alive for the original Doom meanwhile those of us who never really stopped playing it seem to be quite pleased.
Either way it's no skin off my back I just find the unoriginality in calling this a Cod-like funny. The game has great reviews and I'm loving it as well. Seems like that long-a$$ wait paid off.
That said, people who compare this to Doom are still idiots who need a good kick in real life.
Yes loadouts/progression that's the only similarity and considering almost every single game out has that in some form now that's like saying it's like Cod because it has guns.
Need a good Brutal Doom front kick indeed.
Yet somehow I still prefer this game to COD. o.0
oh dear...cod telling a story....the only story cod tells even undescovered tribes in the amazon knew cod was going to tell, cod story lines are the single most predictive, unimagenitive and generic i have ever had the misfortune to encounter.
True. But still more story then Doom.
No fall damage. No reload. Very quick and strafe-y action. Lots of small old school nods like colored keys and sound effects, as well as scripted fights that you need to battle through to proceed. No retarded health/armor regen either.
List goes on, really. Anyone that thinks it's like CoD or Halo needs their head examined.
Doom doesn't need a story. It didn't need one in 1993, it doesn't need one now. You don't play Doom for its story.
