Very Slow Download.

I started preloading this game two days ago. As of this I'm at 53%. I thought it was just the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ connection at this place I'm staying at while the house is under repair, but today I went back to move some boxes and decided to bring my computer to download this with my actual good internet while I worked. Download ETA jumps from 1 hour to like 4 days but spends most of the time saying 18-20 hours. This is insane. Every other game downloads really quickly. Anyone else have this sort of problem?

How about you actually provide your download speeds instead of crying about slow downloads. And don't forget you''re not the only one downloading from your Steam data server. I downloaded the game in an hour today after release

Well good for you. How does that help me? Speed is all over the place. Peek is 7.5 MBs a second, drops all the way down to 43 KBs a second and jumps around between there.

Router problem? ISP problem? Data server problem? Lots of different factors.

no hes right, even disk allocation is crazy long... i bet this size of this game is like 50GB. Crazy. Since a 9 gig game takes like 30 mins i imagine it will be close to 2.5-3 hrs. I believe our problem is games coming out with higher and higher resolutions. these publishers have to push out so many copies of textures and dif resolutions and it blows up the game size. gotta be able to play it on max and minimum settings. although nowadays i dont see why they dont use computer ratings from windows or even steam to install just certain textures instead of flooding us with all of them or make it select-able before the download.

Def going to be a little over two hours. oh and my connections 100 mb/s up and down and my computer is an 8 core 8gb vram 32 gig ddr3 off a 7200 rpm disk drive. i do want to replace it with a monster ssd soon though. my point being there is no speed or performance bottleneck.

Probably ISP issue. I find Steam servers to be really fast provided you have the internet speed to take advantage of it. It takes me under 30 mins to download 50GB with a 150Mbp Down/150Mbps Up Fibre Optik connection. 10GB Takes me about 3-4 mins, so 50GB takes 15-20Mins tops.

shadow of mordor is nearly 100gb to download. its almost the double size of doom to download...
just as a example, there are more games with a biger size
