If you only want to play the game with Steam-overlay enabled, simply add a non-Steam game to my library.
physical copy only has the steam installer on the cd the key will unlock game for you to download the 50GB game on steam.
That was 10 hours ago. The download should complete in a few minutes (despite being in Argentina, which must have the worst internet in the world...). My vaporizer is charging and i expect to be slaying badass demons with big effing guns in just a few moments.
here's your fun fact of the day, Doom fans
"There is a scene in 'The Color of Money' where Tom Cruise shows up at a pool hall with a custom pool cue in a case. 'What do you have in there?' asks someone. 'Doom.' replied Cruise with a cocky grin. That, and the resulting carnage, was how I viewed us springing the game on the industry."
John Carmack on why the game was named "Doom"
Got a Steam activation code in the DVD case. Downloaded it in 1 hour. No problems.
