DRS: can do what I can already do myself via options menu
yeah, totally parallel.
I don't give a good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if DRS makes its way into games so long as I get to turn it off cause me and my "half-brain" know just how powerful my hardware is and what it can handle and I get the extra bonus of not having some software constantly trying to figure out when would be a good time to just start flipping switches until it meets its arbitrary standard.
If you have no idea what your PC can do, then by all means DRS is a god-send.
Jeez, if we have half brains then i wonder how much grey matter he has.
not the same thing as OP described
Alright, look: I've gone through and offered my thoughts on the matter and all you've done is gone through and called me varying synonyms for "idiot" without providing anything other than "U JUS CANNAE C DA BENEFITS"
there is no debate here, this isn't even a conversation.
Lay it out, right here, why anyone should really give a damn.
+1, OP doesn't know what he's talking about.
In fact:
V-Sync is technique against screen tearing. This effect appears when your Rig creates MORE frames than your Monitor can handle. (U have to use when your Rig have too much power)
DSR is for using a HIGHER resolution than your Monitor can handle. (U can use this when your Rig have enough power.)
Dynamic Resolution Scaling is a method to smooth you frames to 60fps. The consoles have to use this because they have not enough power to calculate all the details. (The consoles have to use this because they have not enough power.)
Using Dynamic Resolution on a Screen 3 meters away from can be okay. But you would barf when u sit right in front of the screen. (Try to look a youtube video in )
That gives me imagination of using this technique in VR games gives u massive headaches... Maybe your eyes implodes.
As example how modern games have to natively scale on current Gen consoles:
http://m.ign.com/wikis/xbox-one/PS4+vs.+Xbox+One+Native+Resolutions+and+Framerates
I can´t imagine that a 400$ console overruns a 250$ Graphic card, espacially after seeing the wild resoultion and frame sets above...
I guess that's not suprising, this is your typical console scrub behavior.
Right, I agree. Sure, PC gaming shouldn't have to require the highest end machine but it's not good if things stagnate, either.
Lots of stuff to hide the resolution change, where as a PC player has to tweak a ♥♥♥♥ ton when they change between resolutions to get a image closer to the higher resolution.
It isn't a Dynamic Reolution change situation, but Dark Souls 3 on Xbox One (900p) looks pretty much exactly the same as the PS4 (1080p) version, and the only visual anomalies I could notice is shimmering on very distant trees.
Then again, 900p isn't that bad of a resolution, but still; good post-process can make even low resolution look good if done right, but PC doesn't have the development initiative to create such a technology.
I wasn't reffering to you, i was reffering to the OP, sorry if it seemed like i was hating on you.
Understandable, happens to the best of us.
Fps going low is unplayable at an irritating degree. So i would take less resolution i think.
