How do you use cheat codes?

when i press ~ and then idkfa or whatever it says unknown command. if i press the ctrl alt ~ + idkfa it still says unknown command. I also typed in devmode_enable 1 (w/e it is) then the cheat it still says unknown error. I did different combinations of the 3 methods and i keep getting unknown command. I also tried using WeMod and a FLiNG trainer and those wont work unless I set it to OpenGL it says, and when i do that the game wont even open. I have to manually go into the .ini file and set it back to Vulkan for the game to run.

Oh wow. none of them work Ive tried Fling and WeMod. thats weird because Eternal cheats and trainers work fine. Doom doesnt though

does wemod warn you that it might be incompatible? it should work as long it's compatible with the latest game build

it says that you need to switch to OpenGL and mine wont play for some reason when i switch from Vulkan to that. It wont even load the game...did you even read my OP?

then you need to fix it not launching in opengl then as that's not a trainer issue but a pc/game issue

I did a little more researching and i found out how to fix it i didnt know i had to do this go to user\%username%\saved games\id software\doom\base\
open doomconfig.local
change r_renderapi "1" to r_renderapi "0"
