On steam, I know people played the game, and I can ask more specific questions that may not be online, and they often tell me about other useful info such as the presence of snapmap.
Don't know what you have against people using Steam forums to ask questions.
And it's hard to tell exactly HOW many hours you'll get out this game, depends how bored you'll get of shooting demons, rinse repeat
Personally I've got over 200 hours on record, most of that time though was spent on snapmap, either building my own maps or playing other peoples
But the average gametime for most people looks to be around 12-20 hour mark for those that aren't interested in MP or snapmap
MP is a bit crap (there are far better arena style FPSs. UT4 is free) and don't even bother with the "season pass" or DLC, since it's all MP stuff.
Not because I don't like it (I do like it), but when ever I'm done with Snapmap for the day, I usually need to go right to bed and dont have time for a match.
The SP is just really fun to play, like even when I want to limit my time ingame (for benchmarking and stuff, I keep getting lost in how fun it is). Important to note I've only spent that 50 hours on one save file, it took me about 8-10 hours to beat the game on UV, and the other 40 ours were me going back to play my favorite parts in the psuedo-new game+ (level selection) they got, and also getting the collectables and challenges. I'm starting my Nightmare run right now, so that'll probably be a good 16 hours.
My time in Snapmap is also half playing maps and half making maps (and learning how to do so).
Its totally worth 30 bucks.
Np, but do take into account the LIMITS that snapmap has, its a nice little level editor but you'll find when building maps it's very limited in how many objects you can place ect.
Also you can only have 12 demons on screen at once, and instead of individually placing enemies on snapmap you'll most likley find yourself placing wave events and such to keep the % on objects down
So it's far from perfect, and like I said it really depends on the person, even with snapmap you might get bored of this game before you reach that 40 hour mark
Also remember that campaign hasn't got co-op, judging by your OP I'm guessing you thought it did, but the co-op tag on the store page refers to snapmap only
This guy's got a point. Internet is full of relevant information. like howlongtobeat.com
At any rate, I've got no concern with op's question because steam forums is just another internet resource. So I'll put in my 2 cents:
SP: ~15 hours
Snapmap: ~3 hours
Multiplayer: ~32 hours
Game is worth the 30 dollars I paid for [the base game] from the fun of my SP experience alone. But if you're concerned about the dollar per hour ratio...
100 percenting SP would take probably a few more hours.
Beating it again on hardest difficult would probably take another 10-15 depending on how good I am.
I haven't even tried to make anything on snapmap yet. So who knows how many hours you'd get. [For me, I spent dozens of hours making levels in Timesplitters 2 on my GC way back in the day. So I can see myself using. There are a lot of people around here hating on it...and most of what they say is pretty true lol. But that's not to say you wouldn't spend time or enjoy it yourself, so keep that in mind.]
The new update added quite alot of cool new stuff to snapmap, mainly chainsaw, that new pistol, and hell moduels, but lots of other things as well, one of my favourite is that we can now change the lighting FX in a moduel using logic
So for example you could be fighting a wave in an arena and as the waves progress the lighting in the room changes, or you could set it up so that when a player picks up an object, the room then goes dark and a hell baron spawns
But that one major issue with snapmap is still there ofc, and that's the limitations which get pretty annoying having to constantly try to keep usage down when building maps
They made some changes to the snapmap HUB on this update, most part they're really good updates, but one feature was that we can 'subscribe' to maps
Thought to myself "Nice, now I can finally sub all the best maps and when I host a game, I can just quickly select off my list of subbed maps instead of having to remember certain maps names everytime I change map"
...Turns out even the Subscribe feature has its limitations lmao, you can sub up to 20 maps, if you start subbing anymore it'll start deleting old ones off
Which kinda ruined my plan of subbing as many good maps as possible
Meanwhile games like the Witcher 3 or Arkham Knight have supposedly "hundreds of hours" in single player, and while those are fun, the majority of that additional stuff is filler. I would rather have a game that the WHOLE single player is enjoyable and I can replay and get gud anytime I want, rather than a Single player campaign needlessly stretched out with stuff that isn't fun, just so it will supposedly last longer.
Just my two cents!
No, asking on Steam is much better than doing blind searches on google because I don't know much about the game so my searches will be inherently limited. I doubt I would have found out about this Snapmap feature (no review I watched even mentioned it) even if I searched online for how long the game will last, and I may or may not find satisfactory answer.
