WHERE IS THE CONFIG FILE MY GOD

so i enable vulkan ok then i launch game it doesn't work people keep telling me open the config file but it doesn't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ APPEAR

the config file isnt "in the game".

Try here: %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\

do you at least have files in the directory ?

search for doomconfig.local at drive c:\
open it and change r_renderapi "1" to r_renderapi "0"
all will be fine dude :)

m8 another thing the id software part doesn't work, as in it doesn't excist

u can also add +r_renderapi -1 or r_renderapi 0 to steam launch options for doom
but then u have to change something in the graphics menu to save the settings
then exit doom and delete the command from launch options

who told you to look on D: ? The config file has nothing to do with the game directory most of the time. Remember, you can have different users on the same computer, thats why the settings are saved in the user profile .

ye but the profiles and configs of the most games are saved in the user folder because there could be different users who wanna play the game on the same pc with a own profile. it doesnt matter where u have installed the game...
