DOOM
Can you deactivate the glory kill nonsense?
I think its retarded:-(

Im not that impressed with the level design either feels like a point A to point B shooter with some secrets and arenas in the middle..

I dont think it plays like Doom 1, 2, Plutonia experiment..

I feel John Romeros new doom level is more advanced than this

Maybe its different when you move past 2nd level.

Anyways back to my question can you disable melee glory kills completely? until you get the chanisaw which i presume is in

before talking bull**** I recommend to buy the game... And NO YOU CANT SWITCH OFF THE FAMOUS GLORY KILLS!!! And thats good so. You can disable the blue-orange color on the demons when ready for glory kills...but not the whole thing because its well aranged in the game, and a very good idea to bring to fps

Read this article, and you understand. hopefully.

They actually help keep the pace of the game, if you played anything but the demo you would know this.

You can just..... not glory kill. . .

Rip and Tear or GTFO
Ive read the article i think it has som valid points. But i still dont think its a fun mechanic..Ive played the demo and 3 levels on the PS4..I think this games press is vastly overrated. I went in expecting something more thoughtful maze levels and pacing mixed with oldschool Doom mayhem.

I still think the skill should lie in the shooting and not the glory kills.. And im not impressed with the level design will try the Snapmap levels and see if its just me or if i actually have a point

The levels are mazes, especially when you actually start exploring and poking your nose into all the nooks and crannies. You start finding more and more each level.

You need plenty of skill in shooting, you cant just walk up and glory kill everything. Especially later on when you're not battling lame possessed and imps, you really have to put the lead downrange WHILE avoiding other demons WHILE avoiding getting backed into a wall, etc.

Like someone else said if you dislike glory kills just literally shoot them 2 or 3 more times and they die. Move on.

You can easily turn off the glory kill highlights so that you can shoot things or tear them apart at your leisure w/o the same imposition. This would be less interruptive to the experience it sounds like your looking for.

I thought it seemed like a bit much at first, but when you shoot and tear your way through the hordes, darting and weaving to survive, it really does come together.

The level design becomes really great after the introduction levels. You have a lot of freedom to explore some of the places, like the foundry. But unfortunately in the second half of the game the level design becomes very linear and predictable, to the point where you can often tell exactly what the next room will be like before you even see it. Maybe they had run out of ideas at that point.

Much of the lvl design is piss poor apart from a couple which are alright, which is a real shame as it could be a far better game with better level desdign. It leaves it feeling kind of old like 1990's old but with better graphics. Multiplayer rarely has enough players to launch a game (though seems par the course for many multiplayer games these days and really crappy server browser support). Maybe it's for little kids, as you need to turn the difficulty right up for starters.

1. How dare you insult the very foundation of Doom 2016
2. No. You can't.

Non sarcastic comment: I wish you could. Gets old after a mission or two and having to depend on it for extra ammo and what not is silly.

i was a bit letdown initially too, but once you hit the Argent Facility the game starts picking up pretty fast.

i would also recommend you play on a higher difficulty if you aren't finding the beginning levels challenging or engaging. this game plays completely different on nightmare, and arguably ultra-violence.

you won't find yourself glory killing much on nightmare, as it can lead to a quick death.

Nothing is better then fisting demons to death OP has no clue lol
Zomboid Jul 28, 2016 @ 2:40am
Maybe the OP isn't 16 years old and doesn't find the glory kills to be the most "super epic" thing they've ever witnessed. It's crazy, I know. But hear me out, just maybe they don't.

Well if you are reffering to me be 16 sadly you can more then double that number, if you don't like fisting demons then maybe doom games aren't for you.

Did you never fist demons to death while on a beserker in the fist games? Fist a cyber demon to death and tell me it isn't a great feeling ;)
