2nd boss in lazarus labs

I'm finding this guy such a huge leap in difficulty, now trying on 'too young to die' but I just can't dodge his attacks when he throws his walled shields to trap me. Although I can dodge the rockets his lasers get me every time. Been trying for over an hour now and getting to the 'give up on the game ' point as it's becoming too frustrating. Am I missing something, I’m on 3 bars for my health, shields and ammo.

it's a hard fight initially for sure, but it's doable. the laser charge shot used to get me every time as well. the key is to move in one direction continuously while he charges it. when you hear the beeping noise, right before he fires, double jump in the opposite direction.

i would also recommend saving your bfg ammo for the second phase of the fight if possible. it makes his walled shield attacks a lot easier to deal with.

in case you haven't already, watch some youtube videos of people beating this boss. it helped me a lot. especially the pistol only ones.

For the laser: stay on the ground till he's about to launch it. Strafe + double jump and you avoid it.
For the walls: don't try to escape, stay in the corridor. If triple laser the choices are only two: down, up, down/ up, down, up. Not hard, stay calm and look at the screen.

Sadly i used all my BFG ammo on the first stage of the fight lol. Was hard to beat the second phase, but i did it on Nightmare after several dozen tries.

If you can time perfectly, right before he uses his lazer move charge up siege mode in your gauss canon as soon as you can and it should stop him from using his lazer charge.

not to mention, the "Saving Grace" Rune helps out alot, as you'll be able to survive a death blow (2 if it's upgraded) that would normally kill you.

i thought he was the hardest boss, mainly because of fighting him twice and having no BFG ammo, defnitely helps to have your dodge skills mastered.

Thanks for all the help, TBH I'm a casual gamer, I have work and a life to get on with, Doom was great for just dipping into when I had a spare hour or so and for letting off steam. Up until this Boss the game was perfect for what I wanted. I really can't be bothered with repeating dozens of times until I eventually win out, or wear out my keyboard! Life’s too short. No criticzm of the game intended, just a shame you can’t just skip these kind of boss fights as to me they’re nothing more than an exercise in how fast you can press KB buttons. I appreciate lots of other gamers enjoy these boss fights, just not for I’m afraid.

Totally with you. Just remember that you can lower difficulty in any moment. For the BFG ammo, it's not really needed for this. At every boss you there should be a couple of BFG ammo btw, use them when you are in need of ammo or health (usually the boss drops something useful). Also the Boss pattern becomes predictable after 1-2 tries, just observe it

If your still stuck, just restart the map. you will be surprised with what you didn't do. Also that map is in 2 parts, so it's not like your starting on the elevator going down.

BFG or strafe the laser charged shot, and other than that just heavy weapon cycle him. the whole fight should take about a minute. here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyd9hSJXuYE

pretty sloppy swapping on my part but just do this and you'll breeze through.
