Can't beat the final boss
As great as this game is I am unable to beat the final boss, Argent Dnir or something like that. I have tired enabling "god mode" but that does not seem to work despite that everywhere I look says it should. I even enable dev mode and it still does not work. .I have been trying to beat this final boss for the last week with multiple attempts each day. It is just to hard.
It is annoying that I get up to this point just fine, dying a few times here and there but never using any of the supposed cheat codes. Then I get to the final boss and it just seems unbeatable to me and none of the cheat codes work. I have tried many strategies and even watched a few vids of others going through a few attempts to beat it and still no luck. It almost seems as if they have an easier time at fighting the final boss than what I experience.

At the point I am at now I just want to finish the game without having to fight this overpowered boss again. Kudos to those who have beat this boss! But note that I am not asking if you beat it or how you beat it, unless there is a secret trick......

Knowing how to actually enable "god" mode would work best for me.....

I am not trying to be mean or brag, but it was honestly a let down for me in that I beat it on my first try. I hate getting stuck like you are but I also have it when I blow through it the first try without really "trying" if you know what I mean.

I don't have any advice other than you don't have to use anything specific. I literally just went through my weapons one by one to find the ones that did the most damage. I also used the BFG a few times but can't remember if that stunned her or not. The only tactic I can think of is the beam part where you need to jump or crouch to avoid being hit.

I do remember getting stuck in several other places and at a couple points I was (like you) about to give up, yelling at the screen and rage quitting a single player game lol.

I was only on ultra violence and have no interest in doing higher level difficulties. I am just trying to get 100% completion or near it.

Step 1: Rockets.... all of them
Step 2: occasional BFG shot to stun her, then run and pick up the two BFG rounds in the room as needed.
Step 3: Shoot the bullets... all of them
Step 4: Pick up ammo and health that drop from her.

Did i mention the occasional BFG shot..

Step 5: Bask in your bloody Victory

Aim for the head...always.

BFG, Rockets, Gauss Cannon, Turret.

Get up onto a pillar when it electrifies the ground (it kind of looks like its taking a crap when this is going on), keep a good distance and circle-strafe endlessly.

I'm no hero...I got it the third try. :)

Study the attack lists, head for high ground when it's time, stay moving, conserve ammo, aim for the juicy spots. I did it on the highest difficulty, and I am a mediocre gamer in all respects.

Yeah I know the routine of the boss. I get up on the pillars and do some good damage but then it does the one where the pillars turn against me and also electrifies the ground. I see on the videos that there are safe spots and I have been able to get past those prior to this. But now it seems the safe spots are gone as everything gets electrified.
I also aim for the head but it honestly seems that I do the same amount of damage no matter where I hit her if she does not dodge out of the way at the last second.
I can get the boss down to no less than about 20% damage, and she goes crazy with faster attacks around that point.

I've completed the game 4X's, and the spider did have her way with me during those play-thru's, as did the cyber-demon and the hell-guards. cheats don't work and you don't get credit for the kill if they did. If your stopped cold, quit and come back later, start a new save slot, rethink what your doing as you play, and when you feel relax'd then go back and try again, she'll be less trouble this time around, :P8:

I'd say not mediocre as I am at the base difficulty level, normal I think and I can't beat her. I would call myself an average gamer but this is crazy difficult. I had some trouble in other areas but was able to beat the game up to this point.

This kind of reminds me of another game I played and enjoyed up till the end. That was Ryse Son of Rome. I thought it was an ok game but enjoyed the story, up until the end. To beat the game you had to basically follow a script of what to do at what time. I very much dislike games like that and because of it I never returned to that game.

The best thing IMO) besides the BFG is to have the rocket launcher "remote detonation" with the weapon mastery unlocked; this does a lot of extra damage.

I was under the impression that one only got on the pillars when the ground is electrified; otherwise it makes you a sittng duck (means you aren't moving) and get off ASAP when it is done the electirc ground thing otherwise it will whack you with a leg/claw.

Dunno what else to say. Like I said, I am at best an average gamer and it took me 3 tries. The electrified ground is a big deal though; getting on the pillars at that point is critical (and it is a sitting duck when it is doing that).

There's no script here....just don't stop firing and moving and bear in mind the few tactics.

Unfortunately I am unable to unlock remote detonation for the missile launcer at this point, but the 3 missile lock on works pretty good and will hit her even when she is dodging.
In fact I do not think I have unlocked any of the weapon mastery skills yet. They seemed to have eluded me.
I usually stay off the pillars until she starts electrifying the ground and then when she electrifies the pillars and the ground is usually when it is game over for me as there seem to be no more safe spot to jump to anymore.
Carbon Jul 19, 2016 @ 6:58pm
The pillars are never electrified; they are a safe place during this event.

I think you have more than enough strategy advice already in this thread; cheat if you like (if you can), but there is no victory in that. Keep trying, but take a break from it. If you get frustrated, it won't go well.

I'm not sure if you can, but perhaps you can lower the difficulty without starting over from the beginning of the game.

.. Carbon's right, plenty of info here. Just remember you can't stay on the pillars all the time or you'll get impaled. When she starts 'energizing' the pillars, wait a second or two then jump off and back with double jumps. Keep moving for sure, and the BFG is your friend. Yep, keep shooting at those 'soft' parts. It's a pretty satifying battle & once she starts staggering and faultering, & you move in for the glory kill - Good fun. On my first playthrough it took eons to kill her. Couldn't get the timing right, so keep trying. You'll eventually get the groove.

Ah, so the pillars do become electrified? I wasn't aware of that (I get off them ASAP) so sorry for the misinformation.

I don't think she does it everytime, but when you see her start energizing them, get off pretty quickly, I've been impaled enough to learn that lesson & it's an insta-kill for doom guy. Now, to start another nightmare playthrough ? Hmmm.

Replay previous missions for this weapon upgrade Gauss + Siege...for what that's worth. EZ mode. Enjoy!
