Low-end PC Tip

Thanks to Vulkan now I can play at least at 1080p with somethings at low and mid, my pc is below the minimum requirements. The tip is not to use Vulkan but to kill the shadows.

1) Look for the config file "DOOMConfig.local" on "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base\" and open it with notepad
2)Change these variables (these are the values I'm using to get a great increase in performance)
vt_pageImageSizeUnique "512"
vt_pageImageSizeVmtr "512"
r_shadowAtlasTileSize "256"
r_shadowAtlasHeight "512"
r_shadowAtlasWidth "512"
3)Save it and make the file Read-only in the properties.

Thanks to Vulkan I looked for the config file because I couldn't even launch the game when trying it but looking at that shadows and other textures are rendering at 4k even on low settings and there is no way to change it on the settings. So everyone who is having some trouble try this, the second level was a nightmare to me because after I tried the demo and saw that could run the game on low/mid at 1080p with 90% scale render with stable fps over 30. Bought the game and saw the fps dive to 20 or less and have to lower everything to the lowest possible, resolution, render scale just to have 30 with heavy dips. Now with those settings on 1080p, 80% render scale and with some settings at mid/low I was playing above 45 fps for most of the time.

Whats very weird about this is that when i went to the file i could not seem to find the configs only just my crashes when trying to play doom and other stuff .-.

this could be an issue with ur pc's name... what is ur pc's name?

I can't find the config file... And i can't play Doom without it crashing before it can even get into the game

its in %userprofile%\Saved Games\id Software\DOOM\base
its named doomconfig.local
if it isnt there pls open ur own thread and describe ur issue there again pls.
also add ur complete system information there (in steam click on help -> system information -> copy&paste the complete text)
