DOOM
soft lock in Necropolis
I am on the mission "Reclaim the Crucible from its tomb", but I have now encountered a game breaking bug. After entering a dungeon with two hung barons of hell then fighting off the hordes of demons, the doors didn't open. Worse, the door back out of the dungeon didn't open. In fact, I am now stuck between locked doors with no way to exit the tomb, and the checkpoint just takes me back to when I defeated the demons, with all the doors shut. I have to restart the entire mission because of this. I also need to know how to avoid it if this is a necessary route (which is what it looks like from the map).

Here are some screenshots of the map and area in which this happened. After the trouble I had getting the game to launch, I expected this to happen sooner or later...

I THINK there's a switch somewhere you have to hit for the doors to open.

There was a portion in a map like this that locked you in until you found the switch but I can't remember where it is.

The one he's showing is actually the room near the very end in which you get locked in with two Barons, then two Mancubuses, then a bunch of Spectres/Pinkies. Once you kill all of them, the doors should open, so it's definitely bugged. It really sucks that you have to repeat the level. :-(

I have the same problem of being stuck in the room, and when reloading it loads me back to the same room with everything dead and the same problem. Can't find a switch or solution. Likely have to try repeating the level a few times before giving up and shelving the game...not overly impressed for $80.

Necropolis is a trouble level all around. Replaying the level, it's pretty seldom I can actually reach the ending without a crash or bug. Just enjoy the firefights I suppose; replaying a map from the start isn't the end of the world (unless you were in the middle of that map when you decided to go back and upgrade your weapons and rune stones ... because a complete level restart will undo all of that effort as well).

I've also just encountered this bug. But probably because I shoot the giant skull with rocket to get the doom figurine. Then I didn't go through the room where the bug occurs, I used the jumping platform boost to get to the figurine and killed demons near gate. Then I walked back, fought enemies and also got stuck :/

This bug is still present

Edit: As skejven already stated, the bug seems to be triggered if one enters the room/corridor from the wrong side (the side you're supposed to leave the room after the battle)

just encountered this bug.... had to restart the level, but i think i know why it bugged, if you walk into the trap room it works like intended, but first time i entered from the other door(intended exit) with the jump pad.

You all seem to have the same problem. It's not a bug, the back door you entered thru open's and close's only once, by entering that way you sealed the room, now you can't exit. Use the intended enterence, clear the room, get the praetor chip and walk out the door. Unless you have a good reason not to, I'd enjoy hearing it.

yes, and if you walk thru the intended door this does not happen. atleast not in my play-thrus and i been here since the release.

Not sure how to fix it, but can confirm it's definitely there. The bug is that the new door at the end of the hallways has not opened, does not open, and will never open for us. We understand the "trap" door behind us, that's not the bug. The game-breaking bug is that the doors needed to proceed will not open.

...because not everyone knows the design of the level in advance of playing it? Getting lost in this game is quite common due to the confusing maps. And softlocking the game by entering a room a certain way is definitely a bug, no matter how obvious it seems to you that it's the "wrong way".
