Cheats not working

When I type god into the console I get an error that says dev mode is not enabled. I am only playing in campaign mode. Anybody else have this issue?

Solution :

Enable the dev mode. How ? Google it. "How to activate dev mode in Doom". There you go.

I did google it multiple times, I found nothing that shows how to enable it. It just says to open the console and type in the commands. This does not work for me.

No, it doesn't. It says the same thing as all the others I had read, it says just to open the console and type god, which does nothing but give the error message that I spoke of in y first post.

yes it does. read it again where it talks about getting into dev mode.
I have to say, I do like how they put cheats in this game.

That website literally says that any cheat will activate Developer Mode and does not say how to activate Developer Mode without the use of a cheat. ie: That website talks about the game before it was patched to prevent accidentally enabling Developer Mode, now you must explicitly enable Dev Mode before using a cheat. This was done to avoid people accidentally entering Dev Mode when they only wanted to cheat (It doesn't remove the Dev Mode requirement, it just avoids people not being aware of the consequences).

To bring down the console window, press [Ctrl – Alt – ~] — enter a code into the window and press Enter to input. When activated, codes enable Developer Mode on Steam, disable achievements, and are single-player only.

Again, I know how to open the console. That's all they say about enabling dev mode is to open the console and type in god, or another cheat. THAT DOES NOT WORK! It just gives me the error that it is not in dev mode.

That is because in the last update in Steam (about a week ago) they added somthing to
cause the game to disreguare the cheat codes, and even lost one of my slots.

No need to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about it. If he wants to play with cheats on then it's his prerogative, it's single player only and has no impact on your choices.
