Wrong screen Resolution

Whenever I launch Doom, it does something werid and then i get a notifitication saying, "This is not the optimal screen resolution for the primary display. Consider using 3840 x 2160 resoltution for best viewing experience." I cant seem to find anything to help this, thank you.

What are your system specs? You'll need a machine capable of running at 3840 x 2160. I haven't messed with the options to even know if that res is available in the menus, but it will probably be in the 16:9 aspect ratio.

If you don't have the horsepower to run that resolution then just pick something in the 16:9 ratio and use that.

It is available under 16:9

I don't think it's Doom doing that - it sounds like a monitor (or Windows) message to me.

I assume you have a 4k display?

Well its not doom, im getting a message from windows that it is the wrong resoultion. Also im not sure i have a 4K display, i problary do not have that.

Also, whenever i launch Doom the screen becomes black, and the game is small and is in the corner. All of my apps are zoomed in and are huge, and the only way to close doom is using task manager.

Well im not sure how to pick 16:9, if you can tell me a way to select it, that would be great.

ok, add +r_mode 20 to launch options of doom in steam. then u should be able to start the game in 1080p@60Hz. ingame go to settings and change the resolution to a possible resolution (look into ur windows resolution settings) ;)
if u have done that, quit the game and erase +r_mode 20 from launch options...

if r_mode 20 doesnt work try r_mode -2 instead
