that the problem i got everyone keep talking about how it wasnt doom enough and i dont think that the you need 50 enemys and 3000 amo to make it doom i think you just need that atmosphere that feels like the only wey is killing every demon
Doom 2016 is the throwback where you're Hell's Boogie man against all odds.
I like both takes personally. Doom 3 for me came out at that magical time when we also got Halo 2 and Half-Life 2. Those were the days. So granted it could be painted in nostalgia (I was also heavy into raves at the time hehe) but I still like no.3
But yes Doom 2016 does feel like a closer take to the original idea of the 'feel' of doom, whereas to me Doom 3 felt like what they wanted to achieve with the 'idea' of doom.
Both good takes, both valid, just different.
Doom 2016 is Ash Vs the Evil Dead lol.
Both good and valid takes, both similar yet both different. Yeah I'll go by that analogy.
Id normally agree, because i love underdog characters, but doomguy has absolutely no personality. And the story in the earlier doom games was super sparse. I much prefer doomslayer because I feel like the story is far more interesting.
Also, one is just as vulnerable as the other, they can both die, the doomslayer just has a mythos behind him.
Doomslayer is badass, and kinda funny. Doomguy is just too bland and too empty for me to care.
That said, game is still a must, and narratively wise, it's solid despite the direction chosen. It's making sense where it didn't have to. So, nice job.
I just can't stress enough the absence of my DOOMGUY HEAD on bottom screen...
2.they could have make it
Marine level 1
Slayer level 100
That's how Doom works.
